Denver Post pushes Air America for sainthood, smears bloggers
Through the Oh, That Liberal Media! weblog, it's been discovered that the Denver Post, in reporting on Air America...didn't really. Nope, rather, what they did was to say was that the KKZN network's first year with them is "worth celebrating", and then reporter Dick Kreck goes on to villify the blogverse, inlcuding our leading heroine Michelle Malkin. Here's where Kreck really makes a fool out of himself:
And if they've got anything good to say about blogs, it's only about DailyKOS, the most knee-jerk "blog" in town.
Captain's Quarter's blog reports that the Wash. Post hasn't made any genuine attempt to cover the story either. Rather, they've wasted all their energy on attacking the Christian Coalition! Just shows how negative they really are towards religion. And Pirate's Cove informs us that the NY Times is still refusing to say anything either.
So once again, it appears that instead of showing responsibility, the MSM has instead rushed to the aid of its oh-so precious "comrades-in-arms." Put another way, still no progress in getting the MSM to report on the scandal.
Others on the subject include: PostWatch, John Dunshee, The Kool Aid Report, another entry from Pirates Cove, Of Arms and the Law, Moore Thoughts, Atlas Shrugs, Mister Snitch.
Bloggers and others are buzzing about another "story" - whether Air America benefited from loans made to its former director, Evan Cohen, by the Gloria Wise Boys & Girls Club in New York. Conservative media, led by the shrill Michelle Malkin, are all over this story, touting it with headlines like, 'AIR AMERICA: STEALING FROM POOR KIDS?!' and wondering why the "mainstream" press isn't."Shrill"? Oh yeah, that's the best one I've heard all day.
Maybe it's not a story because it's not a story. Piquant, the parent of Air America, responded in several statements that the disagreement over some $800,000 in loans is between Cohen and the boys and girls club, not AA. Despite its non-involvement, Piquant says it will make good on the missing funds. And in this paragraph, he stoops to the classic know-it-all act, and acts as if Piquant's argument is literally meant to be taken for granted! Wow, that's certainly jumping to conclusions.

Air America may have indeed done wrong here, but I think this "outrage" you on the right are feeling is motivated more by a desire to silence liberal and moderate voices, and not out of any sympathy with poor children. Certainly this is the goal of the 'shrill' Malkin. And, really, it's just not that interesting a story anyway. That is the real reason the media isn't covering it.
