The Counterterrorism Blog provides a very interesting list of cases over the years, dating back to the time when Salman Rushdie received death threats from Iran for writing The Satanic Verses. Reading this, I must say, it's been a long time, and if the MSM had been trying to hush up the case of the California University's bookstores in Berkeley being firebombed back then, well now, that shows that the case involving the Oklahoma University student who blew himself up isn't the only thing that the MSM [initially] tried to remain silent about.
Veteran actor Omar Sharif, also mentioned in the topic, was recently threatened with death for supposedly embracing crusader idolatry in an Italian TV show where he played Saint Peter. And he happens to have been a convert to Islam. This pretty much shows that even adherents to Islam are not safe.
