Antisemitism becoming more venomous in England
Mark Steyn ponders England's antisemitism on NRO's The Corner (via Melanie Phillips). I'm not sure if he's putting it over in one of his clever ways as a columnist, but let me just note that in England, there are many times that antisemitism has taken on a subtle but definitely sinister form, making it one of the worst forms of racism in Europe.
He's right though that whenever many of the racists in England bring up something like Zionism, that's certainly where they sink into the Israel-bashing they're becoming notorious at - Zionism is like a local word for patriotism and nationalism, and clearly, if there's anything that upsets a British anti-Israelist, it's whenever Jews take pride in their nationalism.
