Tel-Chai Nation

Israel, much like the fortress of Tel-Chai that Jospeh Trumpeldor fought to defend against Arab conquerors in 1920, finds itself beseiged by enemies both within and without. Terrorists, would-be friends inside and outside Israel, and even bad government officials. Here are the discussions of one proud Zionist resident on the state of the nation and abroad.

Obama refused all Israeli military requests since 2009 began

Since taking office in 2009, Obama has not approved any requests the Israeli government made for the army, and there's no telling if this one will see any greenlighting either. From the World Tribune (via Weasel Zippers and Jihad Watch):
WASHINGTON -- Israel and the United States have signed an agreement for the sale of the C-130J air transport to the Jewish state.

Officials said the U.S. Defense Department and Israeli Defense Ministry concluded an agreement that would enable the sale of at least three C-130J Super Hercules aircraft to Israel.

They said the agreement was signed in Washington on March 24 but has not been announced.

"There is a signed agreement," an official said. "The announcement requires a political decision."

Under the accord, Israel would be able to purchase three C-130Js from manufacturer Lockheed Martin. The agreement called for an option of another six air transports for a total value of $1.9 billion. The Israeli request for the Super Hercules had been approved by the administration of then-President George W. Bush in 2007.

The administration of President Barack Obama has refused to approve any of Israel's military requests since it entered office in January 2009. The Pentagon did not announce any weapons contracts to Israel over the last 14 months.
Now I see why Israel's army has been making an effort to wean off of American arms deals. And they should continue to do so. It's not a good idea that we rely too much on other countries for help.

Such dependence comes with a price.

And I was disappointed to read in the Jerusalem Post the Defense Ministry is ready to offer the PA another package of "goodwill gestures."

The Cabinet needs to just say "NO" to yet more concessions.
