Hagel confirmed as defense secretary, though not without serious signs of disapproval

What a shame, but Chuck Hagel was confirmed for defense secretary, though the silver lining is that there was a significant number of dissenters in the Senate, and Hagel had to spend much of his confirmation battle disavowing the very positions that Obama seems to want him for. Even so, a sad thing he was confirmed for the job, and we have to now be wary of any bad things he's bound to do now that he's gotten the position.
