A shocking murder took place in Tel Aviv, and we can guess the culprit's religion, I'm sure:
Police have arrested a Turkish man who has allegedly murdered his Romanian lover, dismembered her body, stuffed it into a suitcase, and dumped the case in southern Tel Aviv, where it was found on Saturday. The police said the motive for the gruesome killing was most likely a financial dispute. The suspect was arrested just a few hours before he managed to flee the country.
"We arrested him on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. in Ramat Gan, as he was on his way to the airport," said Tel Aviv Police officer Sharon Malka. "He had a plane ticket with a 9:00 p.m. departure time. He confessed to [the crime] and reenacted it for us, showing us the places where he disposed of her body. Our officers have been searching since Monday night, trying to locate the [victim's] head. The investigation has just started."
The gag order which was originally imposed on the case was lifted Wednesday morning. Police identified the suspect as Eidan Damiran, a 50-year-old foreign worker from Turkey. Damiran allegedly strangled to death 45-year-old Ilona Denis, a Romanian woman who was working as a caregiver in Israel. Damiran then allegedly dismembered her body, thinking it would prevent the police from identifying her.
So far, they may not have recovered the poor woman's head. It may have been money that led to this, but it could also have been Islamisogyny that did. And they shouldn't deny that.
