Having lost the election, the Democrats are now taking the risk of making more mistakes
by possibly electing the anti-Israeli Islamophile Keith Ellison to head the DNC:
In 2009, Ellison lamented that “the people who have a strong sympathy for the Israeli position dominate the conversation” — clearly implying that his sympathies lay elsewhere.
And he told the BBC that it would be unwise for a member of Congress to reach out to Hamas — not because it is a terrorist organization committed to Israel’s destruction, but because, given the inevitable ensuing public scrutiny, “I would spend a lot of time fighting off personal attack.”
At a 2010 fundraiser, Ellison said: “The United States foreign policy in the Middle East is governed by what is good or bad through a country of 7 million people. ”
The sentiment, expressed a year before the Arab Spring and America’s response to it turned the region upside down, would have merely been quaint were it not also dismissive of the importance of Israel as a moral and strategic partner.
If the Dems elect Ellison to head the DNC, it will only lead to more damage, for Israel and even for America.
