Robert Wagner is now a "person of interest" in the death of Natalie Wood
CBS’ investigative newsmagazine 48 Hours is set to report that actor Robert Wagner is now considered a “person of interest” in the 1981 drowning death of his wife, actress Natalie Wood.Yet nothing was done about it in over 35 years, all because he was once considered a big deal for an actor, much like O.J. Simpson was once considered a big deal for a football player turned actor.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Investigators, who reopened the case in 2011, spoke with 48 Hours correspondent Erin Moriarty about the new revelations their investigation has uncovered.
“As we’ve investigated the case over the last six years, I think he’s more of a person of interest now,” Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lieutenant John Corina told Moriarty, a preview of the report aired on CBS This Morning on Thursday. “I mean, we know now that he was the last person to be with Natalie before she disappeared.”
This could explain why I ultimately never tried watching the 3 TV shows he starred in, It Takes a Thief (1968-70), Switch (1975-78) and Hart to Hart (1979-84 and 8 reunion TV films starting in 1992), and with the news about Wagner now official, I'm glad I didn't. Wagner was never very appealing to begin with, and this disturbing news will only further compound that perception.
