Marine Le Pen could go to jail for condemning barbarism
Former French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen has been charged with distribution of violent images for tweeting three pictures of executions carried out by ISIS on Twitter in 2015.I think it's high time for all concerned to put any misgivings they could have about Le Pen aside, recognize that this is not her repugnant father we're talking about, who by contrast sold out to Islamofascists years before, and protest the unjust persecution of Le Pen for all the wrong reasons. The war against jihadism will not be won if we allow people to be prosecuted for condemning it.
The charge against the far right-wing leader was filed on Thursday near Paris. A few months ago, France’s National Assembly stripped Le Pen of her parliamentary immunity in the case. If the case goes to trial and she is convicted of the offense, she could face up to three years in prison and a fine of €75,000 (about $91,390).
[...] Le Pen, the leader of France’s National Front, has denounced the indictment against her. “I am being charged for having condemned the horrors of Daesh,” she told AFP, using the Arabic acronym for ISIS. “In other countries this would have earned me a medal.”
Update: Breitbart notes that MP Gilbert Collard is also being persecuted for doing the same as Le Pen.
