France needs a referendum on curbing illegal migration
Laurent Waquiez, the head of Les Republicains, has called for a referendum on how immigration should be handled:
But that's not all they should be doing. They should also be working to abolish any laws that destroy free speech. Otherwise, it could be very difficult to handle the crisis properly.
Laurent Wauquiez, the president of French center-right The Republicans party, has said that he wants to hold a referendum in order to step up measures against migration.I just don't get why they're still calling Le Pen's party that instead of National Rally. But that aside, Waquiez has the right idea in mind to bring this up and draft a law to approach immigration properly.
The National Assembly has been discussing since Monday a draft law on asylum and immigration policies aiming at speeding up the review process for asylum claims to make it easier for the government to return migrants who fail to get asylum to their countries of origin.
The draft bill has sparked arguments between major political fractions, with several members of Macron’s La Republique En Marche! (Republic on the Move) party characterizing the reform as "stigmatizing," a violation of human rights or simply useless. Meanwhile, parties on the right, including Marine Le Pen’s National Front, have called for stricter measures to curb migration.

A ban on renting apartments to Jews on France’s
Cote d’Azur reportedly has not been changed since
it was enacted under the World War II-era Vichy
government. The law requires that applicants
for certain apartments attest that they are:
