Tel-Chai Nation: Elor Azariya finally released from prison

The IDF soldier who was convicted over the petty issue of killing a jihadist has finally been released from prison:

Imprisoned former IDF soldier Elor Azariya was released from prison on Tuesday morning.

Azariya, who had been scheduled to finish serving his sentence this Thursday, asked to be released earlier ahead of his brother Adir's wedding, which will take place on Wednesday. Banners welcoming his release were hung outside Azariya’s home in Ramle.

Azariya was convicted of manslaughter in January 2017 for the shooting death of a wounded Arab terrorist suspected of wearing a suicide vest, after the Arab carried out a terror attack Hevron that left one soldier wounded during the Purim holiday in March of 2016.

In February of 2017, an IDF court sentenced Azariya to 18 months in prison. That sentence was reduced, however, after Azariya’s legal defense team appealed to IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot, who slashed four months from the prison sentence.

Considering this was a jihadist he killed, that's why the IDF overreacted to his actions. Now, this whole mess is thankfully behind us as the guy's been released from prison and will hopefully be able to resume a normal life again.
