Trump's absolutely correct: if France allowed proper gun ownership, the Bataclan massacre could've been prevented

Donald Trump's rightly slammed France's gun control laws:
In a speech before cheering members of the National Rifle Association on Friday, President Donald Trump blamed the scale of the 2015 Paris terror attacks on France’s strict gun control laws and called again for the arming of school teachers.

Trump called France’s gun laws “the toughest gun laws in the world,” and said that they prevented victims of the deadly 2015 attacks from fighting the terrorists.

“They took their time and gunned them down one by one,” Trump said of the terrorists, using his hand to pantomime the shooting: "Boom. Come over here. Boom. Come over here. Boom."

130 people were killed in the series of coordinated bombings and shootings that took place on the night of November 13, 2015. Gunmen held hundreds hostage in the Bataclan theater. 89 were killed.

“But if one employee or just one patron had a gun – or if one person in this room had been there with a gun, aimed at the opposite direction – the terrorists would have fled or been shot, and it would have been a whole different story,” he said.
Well, he's got a point: if anything, the citizenry should not be rendered helpless. Those laws should be changed, and if they wanted to, I'm sure the officials could run all the appropriate background checks.

If anybody was enraged that Trump would dare raise the issues, it was the former "president" under whose administration this terrible incident took place - Francois Hollande:
Reacting to Trump’s controversial speech, former French President Francois Hollande tweeted: “Donald Trump’s shameful remarks and obscene fake grief tell a great deal about what he thinks about France and its values. The friendship between our two peoples will not be tainted by disrespect and outrage. All my thoughts are with the victims of November 13th.”
I think Hollande should just shut the crap up. If he'd wanted to, he could've ensured security for all who needed it, and he could've shown muscle with the disastrous parliamental bunch he had, whose ranks collapsed in the last election. But, he did not, and it cost them all big time.

A call must be made for ending strict gun control in France, to say nothing of ending strict libel laws that enable the wrong crowds to get away with serious crimes. And Trump's statements could be a good start.
