Suddenly, Mahmoud Abbas' closest allies turn against him after he mouths off with more antisemitism

This is amazing. Many of the most pro-Islam sources who gave the PLO's dictator who came after Yasir Arafat their support are now turning against him, as the current tyrant made an antisemitic speech about Holocaust victims, which Yad Vashem was one of the first to condemn:
Israel’s Holocaust memorial museum in Jerusalem, Yad Vashem, on Wednesday lambasted Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas for the “distorted” history lesson in which he said the Holocaust was caused not by anti-Semitism, but by the behavior of Jews who worked in banking and money lending.

“Sadly, Abbas has chosen to assault Holocaust remembrance by attempting to convert the Shoah into a propaganda tool, blatantly falsifying history to the point of accusing the Jewish victims as being responsible for their own murder, and transforming Hitler into a Zionist,” Yad Vashem said in a statement.

“His own argument is itself fundamentally anti-Semitic, insofar as it incorporates a centuries-old anti-Semitic narrative that equates Jews with monetary greed,” the statement said, adding that Abbas should study history instead of trying to give history lessons.

“Even basic acquaintance with Jewish history would teach Abbas not only that the Jews pursued, then and now, a wide variety of professions and occupations, but that the majority of them at that time were impoverished. Even basic acquaintance with European history would inform Abbas about the escalation of anti-Semitism throughout Europe during the second half of the 19th century and the start of the 20th, and that this was in effect the prime context for the murder of Jews during the Holocaust,” it said.
It's also absolutely disgusting how these antisemites will take synonyms for Israeli patriotism and claim they apply to other antisemites instead. Abbas was one of the architects of the terrorist attack in Munich in 1972, and this is nothing new for him. But only now is the left themselves starting to notice, including the New York Times, which was finally willing to condemn him:
In an editorial published Tuesday, The New York Times slammed Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas's speech on Monday in which he claimed Jews "social role related to usury and banks" was to blame for millennia of antisemitism, calling on him to step down from his role as a Palestinian leader.

The piece, titled "Let Abbas's vile words be his last as Palestinian leader," asserted that the president has "shed all credibility as a trustworthy partner if the Palestinians and Israelis ever again have the nerve to try negotiations."

"Abbas's antisemitic tendencies are not new," it continued, referencing Abbas's controversial doctoral thesis which seemed to put into question the number of Jews murdered in the Holocaust.

This, along with the "governing system plagued by corruption and dysfunction" which he oversees, make Abbas an unfit leader for the Palestinians and for any prospective peace process, the editorial states.

The second-to-last paragraph deems Monday's "vile speech" a "new low," and says that "by succumbing to such dark, corrosive instincts he showed that it is time for him to leave office."

US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman used similar words on Tuesday to condemn Abbas's speech, writing “Abu Mazen has reached a new low in attributing the cause of massacres of Jewish people over the years to their 'social behavior relating to interest and banks.'"

Numerous other public figures also condemned the Palestinian's words.
Including the EU, the Los Angeles Times, and of course, the USA. But for the left, this should all have been painfully obvious years ago, and they know it. They're just trying to do damage control for all the trouble they caused, when they could've solved all this long ago. Britain, on the other hand, is trying to downplay the seriousness of the issue by merely calling his statements "deeply concerning". Which is not good enough to prove they recognize what a monster he is.

It looks like finally, Abbas, if anyone in the PLO, will be ostracized, but the truth is there's tons more like him among the "palestinians" and the PLO itself, and they're no better as "partners" than he is.
