Salvini blames Sarkozy for Gaddafi's downfall and rise of illegal immigration invasion
Since the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, Libya has turned into a transit point, through which 650,000 refugees have already reached Italy from Africa.Sarkozy was in charge at the time, and basically influenced everything, not unlike Jimmy Carter leading to the ayatollah's takeover of Iran. Whether or not he intended things as turned out, what matters is that he showed terrible leadership and judgement, and now, he'll have to take responsibility for the disaster he had a hand in causing. I'm not sorry he's now facing possible criminal charges.
Sputnik political observer Sergei Gashkov takes a look at the situation in the conflict-ridden North African nation and its impact on Europe.
In Rome, the responsibility for the influx of migrants is laid on France, which persuaded NATO countries to get rid of Gaddafi. As a result, Libya is now torn apart by rival factions and an ongoing conflict between its two governments.
"It is clearly now undeniable that this country (Libya) finds itself in this situation because someone, in 2011, put their own interests ahead of those of the Libyan people and of Europe itself," Italian Defense Minister Elisabetta Trenta wrote on Facebook. "France, from this point of view, is partly to blame," she added.
Italian parliamentary speaker Roberto Fico was even more explicit, pointing to "a serious problem that has come from France."
Italy's Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini also chimed in, blaming former French President Nicolas Sarkozy for unleashing the war in Libya and the present government for adding fuel to the flames of the Libyan conflict.
Surprisingly enough, despite being little better, Emmanuel Macron had the following to say:
Seven years on, the French look equally unenthusiastic about the so-called “Libyan Revolution,” with President Emmanuel Macron admitting that the intervention was a mistake.More specifically, toppling Gaddafi without any assurance of a more rational replacement was a most hideous error. But if Macron's not willing to cooperate with Salvini, let alone his own countrymen and women, and work to get the invaders out, there's no point in his acknowledging the mistake made by his predecessor. Only if he's willing to get the jihadists out of France and Europe will he be proving himself.
And as for Sarkozy, he shouldn't even be welcomed back to places like the Paris grand synagogue if he's got no regrets over his past conduct that was just as damaging to the Jewish community as everyone else.

Accepting large numbers of people from Third World
countries eventually transforms the host nations
into Third World countries.
Do we really want to transform all of: the USA,
Canada, and Europe into Third World countries?
Say whatever you want, but I vote NO on that one!
