Two cases of jihadists who were fortunately killed by authorities in Israel and France. First is the Barkan jihadist, who was finally located and killed:
While punishing terrorists through death is an important step, it's also important to put a stop to the religion/ideology that drives them, and that's something not being done so far.
After a two-month manhunt, security forces overnight Wednesday eliminated Ashraf Na'alwa, the terrorist who carried out the shooting attack in the Barkan industrial zone on October 7, in which Ziv Hajbi and Kim Levengrond-Yehezkel were murdered.The family of one of the victims said it's relieving news:
The terrorist was killed in Shechem (Nablus) during a joint operation of the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), the IDF and the Israel Police.
According to the Shin Bet, Na'alwa was armed when the forces arrived at his hideout. During an attempt to arrest, an exchange of gunfire ensued, killing the terrorist.
The security forces had arrived at the hideout of the terrorist at the end of a long and arduous chase, which included interrogations of several suspects who assisted or were aware of Na'alwa's activities. Some of those detained have been put on trial. Their interrogation revealed that Na'alwa had planned to carry out another attack, which was prevented when he was located.
Yehezkel, the father of Ziv Hajbi, who was murdered in the Barkan attack, expressed satisfaction this morning that the terrorist Ashraf Na’alwa, who murdered his son, was eliminated overnight during the operation to capture him.Those are some good points that surely apply to France as well, where the jihadist in Strasbourg was wiped out by local authorities:
"Our greatest fear was that they would catch him alive and then we would have to endure his smiles in court. His elimination did some good for the soul,” he said in an interview with Galei Tzahal.
Hajbi attacked lawmakers, adding, "They just tread water and do not do enough to prevent the next murder. All they are interested in is the coalition.”
French police on Thursday shot dead Cherif Chekatt, the suspect in this week’s Strasbourg shooting, which killed three people and wounded 13 near the city center’s popular Christmas market.As far as I know, even France's parliament hasn't proven very effective in taking special actions of their own to deal with these monsters, and they owe a serious apology too as a result.
France’s Interior Minister Christophe Castaner said the 29-year-old suspected gunman was killed in the Neudorf-Meinau quarter of Strasbourg following a “police operation,” which began at 9 p.m. local time.
Earlier Thursday, Security forces, including the elite Raid squad, took action in Neudorf based on “supposition only” that Chekatt could have been hiding in a building nearby two days after the attack. [...]
This week, five people were arrested and have remanded in custody in connection with the investigation, including Chekatt’s parents and two of his brothers.
The Paris prosecutor’s office said the fifth, who was arrested Thursday at an undisclosed location, was a member of Chekatt’s “entourage” but not a family member.
