The Daily Wire points to an announcement made by staff at the Pittsburgh university's medical school that they've got a potential vaccine for Coronavirus:

On Thursday, the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where Dr. Jonas Salk discovered a vaccine for polio, announced they have created a potential vaccine for the coronavirus.

Researchers gave the vaccine to mice through a patch in the skin, and say not only that the vaccine proved effective, but that producing similar patches with a vaccine for humans is scalable and can be produced in large quantities, according to KDKA radio, which notes, “It is the first study to be published after it was critiqued by other scientists ‘at outside institutions that describes a candidate vaccine for COVID-19.’”

Co-senior author Andrea Gambotto, M.D, who is an associate professor of surgery at the Pitt School of Medicine, stated, “We had previous experience on SARS-CoV in 2003 and MERS-CoV in 2014. These two viruses, which are closely related to SARS-CoV-2, teach us that a particular protein, called a spike protein, is important for inducing immunity against the virus. We knew exactly where to fight this new virus. That’s why it’s important to fund vaccine research. You never know where the next pandemic will come from.”

I hope this'll be greenlighted for mass production soon. The sooner a vaccine can be made official for the public, the better. Since we're on the subject, Ruthie Blum's also spoken about it, and reports that:

For a region to achieve herd immunity, however, an overwhelming majority of its population needs to be vaccinated. It’s a gradual process, but a blessed one that everyone awaits impatiently in relation to COVID-19.

On this score, Netanyahu received some encouraging news from the Israel Institute for Biological Research (IIBR), the Nes Ziona-based bio-defense lab that he tasked in February with researching and developing the vaccine. IIBR director Shmuel Shapira reported on “significant progress” in the endeavor, with a “model for commencing an animal trial” in the works.

Meanwhile, scientists at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa and at MIGAL-Galilee Research Institute in Kiryat Shmona are also engaged in what promises to be fruitful research.

MIGAL biotech group leader Dr. Chen Katz told The Jerusalem Post on Wednesday that his team is very close to producing an oral vaccine that could be cleared for testing on humans as early as June 1. Similar efforts are underway, as well, in laboratories around the coronavirus-infected globe.

If they've made progress too, that's also good.
