If the Haredi Knesset parties really oppose outlawing gay conversion therapy, they cannot keep upholding the notion of "modesty" for women

Here's another example from the Knesset, regarding the Haredi parties' alleged opposition to outlawing homosexual conversion therapy, and their threat to boycott voting plenums if the bill is passed:
On Wednesday, the Knesset approved in a preliminary reading Meretz MK Nitzan Horowitz’s bill banning conversion therapy in Israel. Blue&White MKs voted in favor of the bill contrary to the coalition’s position. The bill was approved by a 42 to 36 vote and was sent to committee for amendments. Another bill, amending the Psychologists Law to comply with the initial bill, was passed by a vote of 43 to 35.

Homeland Security Minister Amir Ohana, a declared homosexual, and MK Michal Shir, both members of Likud, also voted in favor of both bills.
And they're both plain shameful for right-wingers, IMHO. But, let's continue to the main matters:
Conversion therapy is the practice of trying to change an individual’s sexual orientation from homosexual or bisexual to heterosexual using psychological, physical, or spiritual interventions. According to most medical sources, there is no reliable evidence that sexual orientation can be changed and a number of medical institutions have warned that conversion therapy practices are potentially harmful. Medical, scientific, and government organizations in the United States and United Kingdom have expressed concern over the validity, efficacy and ethics of conversion therapy. A number of jurisdictions around the world have passed laws against conversion therapy.
Such laws are an assault on parents' rights to help their children maintain a healthy path. It's also worth noting that many of the same opponents of conversion therapy are the same ones promoting all this transsexual propaganda in the past decade or so, and look at the damage it's doing to women's rights. Something the Haredis are also guilty of in their own way, more on which anon. So why must we take the claims conversion therapy doesn't work at face value?
Following the vote, Shas announced that it would not participate in any upcoming plenary votes until further notice – a move that practically guarantees the failure of any new government legislation. Which should be an unexpected boost to the restaurants and gyms, because the next bill on the agenda is the Corona Powers Act which would have clipped the Knesset Coronavirus Committee’s ability to push back the Health Ministry’s rules demanding closure of restaurants and gyms.

You just gotta’ love Israeli politics.

United Torah Judaism for its part announced that “the law that was passed violates the sanctity of the family and is a blatant violation of the coalition agreement. The support that Blue&White members lent the law has undermined the trust that United Torah Judaism has placed in Blue&White. As of this moment, we halt all cooperation with Blue&White.”

It’s difficult to understand why the elimination of a psychiatrist practice which has been shown to do harm to individuals should threaten the sanctity of the family. After all, the law does not condone homosexuality, it merely forbids practices which may jeopardize the well being of homosexuals.
On this, the Jewish Press missed the point. It basically makes it difficult, if at all, for parents to get their children therapy that could help them to maintain sexual attraction to the opposite sex, and even for individuals who want to get therapy for the same reasons. So it's not just an attack on pro-heterosexuality families along with psychologists themselves. It's also an attack on the rights of individuals. Oh, and honestly, why must we continue to believe conversion therapy in itself does harm to individuals who want to be able to connect well with the opposite sex? On which note, and I'm quite serious now, did it ever occur that maybe pornography could come as a blessing if it has any positive effect in that sense? That's why, while I understand if parents wouldn't want young children to view it, I'm not opposed to it as a form of therapy for those of older age who want to get the hang of heterosexuality properly. Yes, really.
Constitution Committee Chairman MK Yaakov Asher (UTJ) said after the vote that “it was expected from a party that claimed to be a ruling party to act responsibly and not according to whims and vengeance, certainly not on issues related to the very soul of Judaism. This is a violation of the coalition’s mutual commitment with all that is implied. It is inconceivable that Judaism be held hostage in the struggles and mutual revenge of Blue&White and the Likud.”

MK Moshe Gafni (UTJ) said, “We will not cooperate with Blue&White, but the Likud government is also good for kapures (meaning you can hold it up and turn it over your head, but not much more than that – DI). Where was Prime Minister Netanyahu? Why did Amir Ohana vote in favor? We are weighing our next move.”
I wish I could give them some credit for standing firm on this kind of a subject. But knowing what kind of censorious/deleterious customs the ultra-Orthodox go by, that's why I find their supposed opposition to this move laughable. If they believe a]that women should dress modestly and conceal her hair, b]think even the most harmless parts of a woman's body like the shoulders are an abomination, c]that men shouldn't look at or sit next to a woman with the excuse that they're not married/related to her, d]that any or all tribes should deny their subjects a proper sex education, e]censor female imagery in community press publications and f]take customs you would normally think limited to synagogues and put them in streets like those of Beit Shemesh - namely, men and women walking in separate lanes with screens to obscure each other's vision...well then, why do they think homosexuality could be influenced even in their own communities? A similar argument could be made that these customs have led to gender dysphoria, which in turn has led to some former Haredis taking up transsexuality, such as this one writing for the BBC named "Abby" Stein, who, crazy as he is, does tell the problem with how the Haredi communities operate:
The Hasidic community is the most gender-segregated society I've ever known or heard about - and I have researched gender-segregated communities quite a bit.

There are even some Hasidic communities in upstate New York where men and women are told to walk on separate sides of the streets - it's the closest thing that exists now to a 19th Century Eastern European Jewish shtetl (village).

From the second you start preschool, the sexes are totally separated. Boys and girls are told not to play together.

Even though in Jewish law there is no prohibition against hugging or holding hands with your sister or mom, when I was growing up it was still considered something Hasidic boys shouldn't do.

I never saw anyone naked. I did not know that my sisters and I had different body parts down under. It was never discussed
.
It's said that many ultra-Orthodox communities like Satmar, to name a prime example, don't provide their subjects with any proper sex education. So, if the transsexual propagandist writing at the BBC is being factual on that part, I think this gives a clue not only to how homosexuality is caused, but also gender dysphoria can be caused, leading to a Jewish community case of obsession with transgenderism and losing one's mind into embracing the same. This is why I have no respect for such a phony take on Judaism. In this modern day and age, it's leading to cases of former Hasidic subjects going bananas once they run afoul of such a corrupting influence. Whether or not this "Abby" has any sexual attraction to the opposite sex, it's defeatist to act like he can literally become it. Oh, and lest I forget, I'd already written about him last year, and learned he supports anti-Israel movements, which explains why I have no sympathy for him regardless. If it matters though, he goes on in the BBC garbage to say:
Even so, when I was four years old I had this intense feeling of anger towards my own private parts. They didn't feel like part of me. It was an extremely strong feeling that I cannot explain to this day.
Probably because he was never taught any self confidence in being a man, and not given any sex education that could've not only seen to it he was proud to be one, but that he could also be sexually attracted to women and make a good father as well. I totally detest his parents, because they just had to nail themselves on a lifestyle that's likely caused a lot more loss of confidence than gain. I wonder if it's because of one of the morning biblical prayers that says thanks to God "for not making me a woman", instead of a prayer passage more clearly stating for making the subject a man? Could that have led to some confusion? I don't know. What I do know is that the Haredi parties in the Knesset are making a whole joke of their opposition to a ban on gay conversion therapy if they can't look at their own customs and ask whether they're making any mistakes that lead to homosexuality and gender dysphoria in their own way. The ultra-Orthodox ideology is a major embarrassment, and the worst part is, they probably know it.

I think there's a rather simple way to reverse homosexuality: have the subject look over a mountain of pictures of the opposite sex. Specifically, a man sits around looking over photos of models, including pics from pornography magazines, and this is how to get them to become more sexually attracted to women. I honestly think it can work, including porn videos. If the Haredis have a problem with that, well...shame on them, and they can't be shocked if any subject in their insular communities becomes homosexual as a result.
