Giulio Meotti's written on Israel National News about how the current obsession in the west with transgender ideology, much like homosexuality, is causing serious damage not unlike what took place during the Roman empire period:

Criticizing gender ideology today means entering a minefield. And those who have the honesty to speak up if they disagree with that ideology, can corroborate that.

What does this transgender craze that reigns in every corner of the West represent? According to Camille Paglia, the US heretical feminist, contrarian and libertarian, it is the sign of the decline of Western culture and civilization.

She explained it in her book, “Free Women. Free Men”, where she wrote about many parallels between our time and that of the Roman Empire. “Whenever you have tolerant and permissive cosmopolitan cultures, where homosexuality is openly practiced, it seems that these cultures are ripe for collapse!”.

Family traditions weaken and civilizations begin to fall. When a culture begins to decay, there is an inflorescence of transgender phenomena. This is a symptom of a “cultural breakdown.”

[...] This transgender dictatorship is the symbol of a very dangerous and unstoppable attraction of the West towards its own abyss: a fluid, liquid, very weak identity, a post-religious, post-family, post-heroic identity.

This is why all the leftist hostility to and blacklisting of anybody disagreeing with LGBT ideology has got to stop. It's virtually ruined discourse, along with destroying minds and families alike. Of course, if religious people like Haredis really want to avoid leading to homosexuality among their children, that's why they cannot tell them not to look at nor converse with the opposite sex, must teach them to be chivalrous no matter how women dress and stuff like that, and need to give their children a proper sex education to boot, without resorting to horrific censorship that leaves the subjects in an infantalized state. Seriously, I've suspected that religion unwittingly played a role in leading to some of the modern problems, and if so, that's why the time's come to stop with the sex-negative positions that have become disturbingly prevalent in modern times.

The gay marriage debate has descended into bullying and vilifying anyone who dares to defend traditional beliefs. But objecting to gay marriage is neither discriminatory nor homophobic. The slandering of all who oppose gay marriage has descended into a poisonous hate fest.

The just campaign to ensure equal social and civic rights for gays has succeeded beyond all expectations. But it was never intended to promote a gay lifestyle at the expense of heterosexuality and the nuclear family. I do not endorse the belief that sexuality is fluid. Nor would I condone the silencing of traditional and religious values, which consider marriage between man and wife to be uniquely sacred.

Putting aside the issues of LGBT rights and gay marriage, an entirely separate and unrelated aspect of the so-called sexual revolution is how we relate to predation and abuse.

People who are in every other respect normal, including those who occupy important social or political roles, sometimes engage in deviant and dark sexual behavior. This is probably one of the reasons why rabbis in the Middle Ages imposed needlessly extreme divisions between the genders and obliged women to cover themselves up to avoid tempting sexual predators. Many men, including rabbis, also regrettably regarded women as sexual objects whose primary role was to give birth to children.

The mistake made in the middle ages - one that surely influenced homosexuality in more ways than one - was basically blaming women/victims, and otherwise failing instill men with a sense of education on how to better themselves. Now, it's come back to haunt everyone.
