Rabbi Benny Lau is not helping to solve a socially dreadful situation

The Times of Israel/JTA is fawning over news about rabbi Benny Lau, because he supports gay marriage, and the worst part, IMHO, is that he's implying homosexuals should reject the opposite sex:
A prominent Israeli Orthodox rabbi said that Jewish law does not forbid LGBTQ people from building a family. This is where he really goes overboard. To say it's acceptable if homosexuals find the opposite sex repulsive is offensive and denigrating to women and men alike. Can you imagine the reaction by SJWs if this were said about same-sex issues? Lau is clearly somebody who doesn't have the guts it takes to encourage and inspire homosexuals to overcome the hurdle and relate sexually and romantically with the opposite sex. What they're saying about conversion therapy is also ludicrous, because if it's based on psychology, then that makes this an assault on the whole psychology industry, which is sadly the whole purpose of promoting LGBT ideology.
Rabbi Benny Lau made the statement as part of a set of guidelines for observant LGBTQ Jews and their families released Saturday evening under the heading “It is Not Good for Man to be Alone.” The guidelines, published on Lau’s Facebook page (Hebrew), seek to reconcile a desire to welcome LGBTQ Jews into Jewish communities within the constraints of religious law.
According to Lau, Jewish law “does not forbid members of the LGBTQ community from raising children and building a family,” though he acknowledges that Jewish legal issues may arise for couples who use surrogacy or a sperm donor in order to have children.
Lau also discouraged family members of LGBTQ Jews from encouraging conversion therapy, a debunked practice that seeks to change someone’s sexual orientation.
The rabbi said those attracted to members of the same sex should not attempt to enter heterosexual marriage if they are repulsed by their partner. And he affirmed that LGBTQ couples and their children should be full members of the community and that their dignity should not be harmed.
Also, how come it's wrong to harm the dignity of homosexuals, but not that of women who're attacked for how they dress, or who face sex discrimination in certain jobs, even religious ones? If the censorious Haredi approach to Judaism can influence homosexuality, then Lau is taking it a step further by failing to provide inspiration, encourage people to have the confidence needed to relate properly to the opposite gender, and above all, to point out the flaw in a specific approach to religion. Is it any wonder society falls apart as a result? What next, will Lau say transgenderism is entirely acceptable, even if it leads to an invasion of women's privacy in facilities like public bathrooms and changing rooms at pools and gymnasiums? If he does, he'll really make a mess of everything.
