New York's Democrat governor is singling out Haredi Judaists over Covid violations, even as he's allowed anti-Trump demonstrations to continue unfettered:

Catholic League president Bill Donohue has censured New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo for his malicious targeting of Orthodox Jews in a recent edict against the coronavirus.

In a new autocratic move, Mr. Cuomo plans to “shut down all churches, synagogues and schools — private, religious, and public — in an attempt to quell the spread of the disease,” Dr. Donohue notes.

“We know religious institutions have been a problem,” Cuomo threatened. “If you’re not willing to live with these rules, then I’m going to close the synagogues,” in reference to an uptick in coronavirus infections in Orthodox Jewish neighborhoods in New York.

AP reported Monday that many Orthodox Jews “feel the city is singling them out for criticism.”

“People are very turned off and very burned out,” said Yosef Hershkop, a Hasidic Jew from Brooklyn who works for a chain of urgent-care centers. “It’s not like we’re the only people in New York getting COVID.”

Over in the USA, there's a valid argument against Cuomo and his fellow lefists. Cuomo and Bill de Blasio have allowed BLM protests despite the pandemic, and even went so far to allow it to be painted on the street in front of Trump Tower. This is nothing more than a horrifically blatant example of leftists who've lost their moral compass, and exploited the pandemic in the worst ways possible for brownie points with the most extreme members of their base. The Jewish community's responded by staging a special protest (Hat tip: Breitbart), and given that most Haredi sects other than those of the Satmar variety are usually more responsible while residing in the USA, that's why, if anything, the failure to apply the safety rules to radical leftist movements as much as to Jewish communities is hypocritical in the extreme. So Cuomo and de Blasio deserve all the condemnation they're getting now, as it's clear they're no better than, say, the Haredi extremists in this country who, along with the far-leftists and Islamists in Israel, are causing only so much disaster in terms of health. Let's hope both Cuomo and de Blasio are voted out of office.
