SCOTUS has become a disgrace
The Supreme Court dismissed a lawsuit on Friday that was filed this week by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton that sought to overturn the results of the presidential election in four states. What's really atrocious is the likelihood even Trump's own nominees are throwing him under the bus, presumably because they're scared of being seen as thanking him? What it does say here is:
“The State of Texas’s motion for leave to file a bill of complaint is denied for lack of standing under Article III of the Constitution,” the court’s unsigned order stated. “Texas has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another State conducts its elections. All other pending motions are dismissed as moot.”
The three justices appointed by Trump, Amy Coney Barrett, Brett Kavanaugh, and Neil Gorsuch did not voice an opinion on the case.Honestly, this is regrettable they're not, as it runs the gauntlet of making it look as though they lack courage to take a stand, mainly against the left.
Rudy Giuliani, in charge of Trump's legal team, said they're not finished:
Giuliani said, “The case wasn’t rejected on the merits, the case was rejected on standing. So the answer to that is to bring the case now to the district court by the president, by some of the electors, alleging some of the same facts where there would be standing and therefore get a hearing.”Considering this is a lawsuit backed by nearly 20 other states (and Alan Dershowitz says the challenges should be praised), along with over a hundred Congress members, that's why SCOTUS would do well to accept it, because it's not going to look good for them either if they look like they're acting out of bias against a conservative-leaning president whose policies the left disagrees with.
