Macaulay Culkin shuns the guy who had a cameo in one of his movies
Macaulay Culkin publicly backed a petition Wednesday to have U.S. President Donald Trump excised from Home Alone 2: Lost In New York. And now Culkin's made things worse by announcing, in the simplest of words, that he has no faith or admiration of his own film. Which, to be honest, hasn't aged so well anyway, due to the late filmmaker John Hughes recycling the formula ad nauseam over several years in more movies that made his previous teen-oriented fare look far superior by contrast. I guess those paychecks made all the difference to Culkin, who was, after all, too young at the time to care about artistic value. Now, he's just another liberal buffoon who can't avoid politics like some of his predecessors did. This is only bound to discourage some film buffs from bothering to watch his resume again.
[...] That single 10-second exchange has been enough to excite fans of the movie and led to previous calls for it to be altered.
Now Culkin has entered the fray.
After a fan tweeted: ‘Petition to digitally replace trump in “home alone 2” with 40-year-old macaulay culkin.’ Macaulay, 40, simply replied: “Sold.”
Another fan of the smash hit 1992 movie soon shared a video of [what] the famous scene would look like without Trump’s cameo “due to popular request.” It got the seal of approval from Macaulay who cheered: “Bravo.”
Culkin’s endorsement of the movie alteration is the latest call for the president to be “disappeared.”
As Breitbart News reported, Donald Trump Jr. called the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) “absolutely pathetic” for cutting his father’s cameo scene from its broadcast of the film in 2019.
Update: I'd long forgotten about this, but almost 2 decades ago, Culkin reportedly ran afoul of drugs, one more reason why whatever he thinks is ultimately irrelevant.
