Pregnant Jewish woman assaulted in London's Stamford Hill borough
A man in his fifties has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm after a young pregnant woman had a pillowcase put over her head and was repeatedly punched. It's only indicated at the bottom of the article she's Jewish, though. Not mentioned at all is the background of the offender, so how can we know if it was an Islamofascist who committed the crime? The Evening Standard mentions:
The 20-year-old victim, who is around 28 weeks' pregnant, was attacked at around 6.30pm last Thursday on Manor Road in Stamford Hill, north London.
She told officers she had been approached from behind by the suspect, who put a pillow case over her head before assaulting her.
The suspect was arrested at an address in Haringey and is now in custody at an east London police station, Scotland Yard said.
Since the assault, officers have been conducting patrols in the area to “provide reassurance to the local community”.Does that suggest it could've been a jihadist attack? Unfortunately, there's just no clear way to tell, and chances are this'll be obscured from the news soon enough. I hope the lady is okay and recovering.
