Iron Dome system thankfully regains funding

A special bill's passed in Capitol Hill to ensure the Iron Dome defense system will continue getting its funding. Among those opposed, there was unfortunately one Republican siding with Democrats who're against it:
The US House of Representatives on Thursday voted overwhelmingly to pass legislation that will provide Israel with $1 billion for its Iron Dome missile defense system, days after the funding was removed from a government spending bill amid pressure from a small group of progressive lawmakers.

The Iron Dome Supplemental Appropriations Act passed 420-9 with two Democrats, Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Hank Johnson, effectively abstaining by voting “present.”

Eight Democrats — Reps. Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, Cori Bush, Andre Carson, Marie Newman, Jesus Garcia, Raul Grivalva — and one Republican, Rep. Tom Massie, voted against HR 5323.
Massie is from Kentucky, and if the GOP is smart, they'll make sure to get rid of him. This wouldn't be acceptable if he'd opposed providing defense funding for a European country either. That said, Israel shouldn't have to rely solely on US funding for these defense projects, nor should they be keeping silent while the Gaza strip remains a hotbed of Hamas terrorism. There's a lot of room needed for improvement.
