Ukraine recognizes Jerusalem as the Israeli capitol
Now here's some great news regarding Jerusalem's status as seen in Europe:
Ukraine recognizes Jerusalem as Israel's "one and only capital" and will open a branch of its embassy in the capital in the upcoming year, Ambassador to Israel Yevgen Korniychuk said on Thursday. This is another positive example coming from European countries, and it'll hopefully lead in the future to more coming off their refusal to recognize history. Of course, it remains to be seen how many will thank Benjamin Netanyahu for this, considering Naftali Bennett's been exploiting developments set in motion by the man he hijacked premiership from earlier this year. Such ingratitude on Bennett's part isn't helping. The Ukranian government, on the other hand, is to be thanked aplenty.
Korniychuk's announcement came at the Kyiv Jewish Forum, an event marking 30 years of Israel-Ukraine ties, which was attended by Jerusalem Affairs Minister Ze'ev Elkin, who grew up in Ukraine. Elkin is also the housing and construction minister.
The embassy branch in Jerusalem would be responsible for promoting bilateral trade and technological ties and will be inaugurated during a visit by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Israel next year.
