How Naftali Bennett brought about his own downfall
...Bennett's desire to hold on to the wheel at all costs is what eventually brought about his downfall. The train car did not stop at the speed he commanded and disengaged on the way. He remained a locomotive without wagons. A leader without a public, a prime minister who would not garner enough votes to make it into the Knesset at the next elections. He capitulated to demands by leftists, was soft on Islamism and terrorism, worsened the economic situation, among other appalling steps that caused embarrassment to Israel. He may be going "on hiatus" from politics now, and if he returns, that'll decidedly be his attempt at bringing disaster back that would be better avoided.
And now, with Yair Lapid taking over as premier, who knows what more badness awaits?
