Republicans lose in Wisconsin judicial election to mail-in ballots
Republicans lost big in Wisconsin. But their downfall came well before Tuesday. There may be something to that argument, but what if it still fails due to any kind of corruption and cheating? It'll be meaningless if that happens. Pamela Geller's opined that the GOP has gotten stupid and archaic, and they aren't doing well in courting the younger generation's votes, but what's really worth pondering is what one of the commenters says:
Liberal Milwaukee County judge Janet Protasiewicz crushed former conservative state Supreme Court Justice Dan Kelly. The race wasn’t particularly close. Protasiewicz won by 11 points, or over 200,000 votes.
One reason she won: She had a big head start on votes before polls even opened on Tuesday.
At least 435,000 people voted early, either by mail or in-person. Democratic Party officials estimated ahead of the election that Protasiewicz banked at least a 100,000 vote advantage from that bucket of voters.
“Democrats are playing a totally different game than Republicans are,” said Rebecca Kleefisch, a Republican who has served as Scott Walker’s lieutenant governor and lost a gubernatorial primary last year.
Democrats have embraced a big mail and absentee voting strategy in the past few cycles, but Republicans have been skeptical — in part because of loud criticism of the practice from former President Donald Trump. But it comes at a cost. Republicans are increasingly finding themselves in the hole before Election Day even arrives.
“We need to do what is legal, the same way Democrats are doing what is legal,” Kleefisch said. “Republicans sometimes cling to strategies that are not embracing all of the new opportunities that have been afforded.”
As far as I can see, it makes no difference whether Republicans work to engage younger voters or not, because of that generation being especially intolerant, violent and thuggish (think the recent incidents at SFSU, Stanford Law and other college campuses, plus their being shock troops for Antifa and BLM), as well as the recent polls showing how unpatriotic they are, how much they support socialism, their refusal to fight for this country if we were to be invaded, their support for violence against any speaker that disagrees from the leftist ideology, etc. – very much the poisonous fruit of decades of far-left indoctrination and radicalization, CRT, Howard Zinn and “1619 Project” propaganda, etc. I say the GOP is throwing away the ball by not pounding hard enough on raising the voting age and bringing up how much the 26th Amendment is an albatross on our necks that may yet prove fatal to our freedoms and our very existence. As it stands, young people’s votes AUTOMATICALLY cancels out OUR votes. That, tragically, is a very valid concern. Years of indoctrination have begun to take their toll. That's why the trajectory the USA is headed on is a very terrible one indeed, and the price paid will be very heavy.
