4 people murdered by jihadist at gas station near Eli
Four Israelis were killed in a terrorist attack that took place near the Binyamin settlement of Eli at around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. The shooting in the Binyamin region just north of Jerusalem took place at a gas station. Some of the reports so far reveal the culprits were Hamas supporters. And so long as the army doesn't perform a serious operation in Muslim enclaves where they dwell, this situation will never improve.
According to footage from the scene, the killers arrived with a vehicle and then fired at the restaurant and on those filling up their gas tanks. One of them sped off with another vehicle – having most likely forcefully commandeered it from a passerby – while his accomplice was killed by an armed individual who happened to be filling up the air in his tires. He later recalled how he had a hunch they were ill-doers when he saw their vehicle enter the station and refused to let his son come out of the car and help – a decision that may have saved his life.
Large forces were sent to the area to conduct a manhunt, aided by a helicopter. Residents of the settlement were told to shelter in place and a siren was activated in order to facilitate the search for the fleeing terrorist, which lasted for two hours, when he was eliminated nearby.
Another four Israelis were reported to have been evacuated with injuries, including one who sustained serious wounds and another two who were moderately wounded.
Recently the IDF has seen an uptick in terrorism beyond the Green Line, particularly in Samaria.
