A rabbi whom I'd once known in the past 2 decades or so, Ephraim Sprecher, has sadly passed away a few days ago. He'd been a columnist for Torah Tidbits (and his writings can be found here), and worked at one of the yeshivas in the Old City area in Jerusalem. Like myself, he was also a native of the USA (from New York). He'd suffered illness beginning around the time of the Coronavirus crisis a few years ago, and had to retire, and spent his last 3-4 years at an old age home.
From what I knew about him, he was a fine fellow, as was his wife, and I'd attended his biblical lectures (some of which were filmed and available here), had lunch at his home on Shabbat a number of times, and visited some special gatherings along with my family where he went as well. Now, sadly, a decent man's gone, and I wish to offer my condolences to his family. In the time he'd worked, he did a very great job.
