Haredi demonstration against army enlistment ends in tragedy as young man dies in fall from construction site
0 Comments Published by Avi Green on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 9:49 AM.A man was killed on Thursday during the haredi demonstration against military conscription, after he fell from a height at a construction site on Shazar Boulevard in Jerusalem. The victim was later identified as 20-year-old Menachem Mendel Litzman. This is very sad, and it can be validly argued that his spiritual gurus have to shoulder some blame here. This is what the Haredi clans are fighting for? As if it weren't bad enough they reportedly exploited symbols used by families of the hostages of Hamas, and even threw water bottles at a TV news crew, now, their influence has resulted in a man losing his life by trespassing on a construction site and climbing to the top where he wound up falling off the edge. That was inappropriate. Here's more:
Litzman slipped at the construction site and fell approximately 20 stories. MDA paramedics who rushed to the scene found the victim suffering from multi-system trauma and no vital signs, and had to pronounce him dead at the scene.
A mass Haredi prayer rally in Jerusalem against IDF conscription has officially ended, though hundreds of young men are now clashing with Border Police.Well then they too have some blame to shoulder for this tragedy. It's also been reported that:
Despite the emcee’s urging demonstrators to disperse calmly, large crowds remain near the entrance to Jerusalem.
The officers charge the protesters after a group tried to enter the construction site where a teenager fell to his death.
Yosef Goffman, a yeshiva student from Jerusalem who attended the rally today, tells The Times of Israel that he is saddened by the event’s tragic conclusion and the subsequent scuffles with police.
He typically refrains from partaking in anti-draft demonstrations, but came to today’s rally because it was endorsed by the ultra-Orthodox parties in the Knesset, as opposed to the more radical Jerusalem Faction.
Police apprehended an Arab illegal infiltrator on Monday in Jerusalem after he attempted to evade arrest by participating in a demonstration against haredi military conscription. It's to be concluded the Haredi leaderships are not very concerned about such an incident either, even though the arrestee could've been a jihadist who would doubtless attack the attendants if he had the chance, and Haredis make very noticeable targets because of their attire. Once again, they've proven an embarrassment for the country they refuse to serve, even to help prevent more October 7s from occurring.
During the demonstration near the Jerusalem Recruiting Office, undercover officers identified a man acting suspiciously.
Upon inspection, it was determined that the man was a resident of Bethlehem in his 30s who had entered Israeli sovereign territory illegally.
After inspecting his bag and ruling out any hostile activity, the suspect was arrested and taken for questioning. The Police intend to file an indictment against him in the coming days.
As part of a widespread operation, 23 illegal infiltrators were arrested in Jerusalem on Monday. "The police continue to act with resolve against illegal infiltrations, including enforcement against those who employ and assist them," the police stated.
In addition, administrative actions were taken against businesses that employed or housed illegal infiltrators. Two businesses were temporarily closed by order of the Jerusalem District commander.
Update: even after the demonstration ended, Haredi hooligans continued making an embarrassment of themselves:
Dozens of protesters were recorded climbing a crane and multiple high-rise construction sites. One can say they're endangering themselves, and that's got to be one of the worst things about their MO.
According to police reports, some individuals who climbed the construction sites are now refusing to come down. Fire and Rescue services are working to remove protesters from the crane and construction sites.
