Ron Dermer predicts Trump's "peace plan" will eventually fail
0 Comments Published by Avi Green on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at 9:23 AM.President Donald Trump's Gaza peace plan is ultimately destined to fail, and the Israeli army will need to resume operations in the territory and retake areas returned to Hamas under the ceasefire deal, sources close to Israel’s Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer have said, World Israel News reported on Sunday.Syria is unfortunately a problem, what with having an Islamofascist despot in charge, and as for Lebanon, any agreement must enable Maronite Christians to be able to resume living there safely again, considering the horror story Lebanon became when the Religion of Peace took over in the mid-80s, which even Ronald Reagan did nothing to prevent. For now, Dermer's made a valid point that you cannot make peace with a terrorist group, but what must be made clear is that it's because of they follow a religion like Islam, and their refusal to abandon its ways is precisely why a "peace plan" is doomed to failure.
“Dermer, who has been a key architect of Israel’s strategy during the war and is slated to resign from the government next month, reportedly told his aides last week that the new security force being assembled by Egypt — the International Stabilization Force — which is expected to draw from countries across the Muslim world, will be unable to succeed in its mission of disarming Hamas, demilitarizing the Gaza Strip, and enforcing the Trump administration’s peace deal.
The failure of the International Stabilization Force to enforce the peace plan, combined with Hamas’s refusal to disarm, will secure backing from the Trump administration for a decisive IDF operation to dismantle the terrorist organization in Gaza, Dermer reportedly told his aides, according to World Israel News.
However, Dermer reportedly added that Israel is poised to expand the Abraham Accords by achieving peace agreements with both Syria and Lebanon, capitalizing on the IDF’s successful military campaign against the Hezbollah terrorist organization and the collapse of the Assad regime in Damascus.
On this note, senator Lindsey Graham was critical of Trump's plans too:
US Senator Lindsey Graham expressed deep concern over President Donald Trump's Gaza ceasefire plan, warning that it may unintentionally empower Hamas rather than neutralize the terror group.Graham is correct on this observation, and his worries are valid and greatly appreciated. The vice president keeps claiming for now that the "cease fire" is holding. But even "cease fire" is a reprehensible way of terming it, because even that risks moral equivalence. What's needed is a distinction between sides and a firm demand that all of the Hamas surrender. And an "international force" comprised of employees from the Muslim world would also be dangerous, because there's no telling if they'd do everything to smuggle more weapons into Gaza, when clearing away all dangerous weapons is what's needed now.
In a social media post published Sunday, Graham said he fully agrees with King Abdullah of Jordan's analysis of the current security proposal for Gaza, calling the idea of an international force tasked with disarming Hamas "unrealistic."
"To expect an international force to go to war with Hamas to require their disarmament is unrealistic. To expect Hamas to disarm without the threat of confrontation is unrealistic," Graham wrote.
Citing the Jordanian monarch's remarks to BBC Panorama, the senator said he believes Hamas is consolidating its control over Gaza, not moving toward peace. “It is my growing belief that Hamas is not going to disarm but instead is in the process of consolidating power in Gaza by attacking those who would oppose them."
"Under the current approach, every day that goes by allows Hamas to get stronger and more lethal," he added. "The world needs to understand that Israel cannot tolerate this outcome. If Israel feels it needs to re-engage in Gaza to finish Hamas off, they have my full support."
