Melissa Gilbert continues to flub

The actress who stupidly continues to defend her disgraced husband Timothy Busfield, despite the serious accusations of sexual abuse he's facing, supposedly defended child performers, and only wound up receiving criticism from Megyn Kelly:

In the wake of the allegations against her husband, Gilbert, 62, who played Laura Ingalls in LHOTP, has publicly spoken out in defense of Busfield. She also more recently posted an emotional PSA about protecting child actors following the death of Hayden Panettiere at 36. "Enough is enough," she declared on Substack, pointing to the deaths of Panettiere, Michelle Trachtenberg, and Daveigh Chase as a sign that "something is very, very wrong."

Kelly, 55, was not impressed. On The Megyn Kelly Show, the former Fox News host claimed, "She's gotta offer her 2 cents because it's very important to Melissa Gilbert to be seen as a champion of women, even though she's not."

Additionally, Kelly shot down the idea that mobile phones are to blame for the deaths of former child actresses.

"It appears to be thanks to people like your husband, who you are defending," Kelly said. "She's standing by him even on the host of women who have come forward. She was asked by George Stephanopoulos on Good Morning America whether she was aware of the litany of women who have come forward against him. OK, it's not just one or two. By my count, it is… at least seven who have come forward."

Kelly continued, "This woman, the gull. Like, how ever do we get to this point where women are being seriously abused — why don't you ask Timothy, Melissa? He could really help us out. Oh, wait. You don't give a s***about anything involving him. It's just something that you don't have any connection to that you would like to condemn. That's not how it works. You're going to have to sit this one out, Mel."

Even if this doesn't involve exactly the same topics and offenses Busfield was accused of committing, Gilbert has no business taking the moral high ground so long as she remains the creep's leading defender and apologist, and so, she again screws up classically. Such a disgraceful woman indeed, and she continues to destroy her legacy playing roles like Laura Ingalls Wilder on the 1974-84 Little House on the Prairie TV show. Perhaps it really is best if we all stuck to the original books instead.

Here's also some news about how Gilbert's wallet's been emptied based on her willingness to finance Busfield's legal bills. If they go broke, they'll deserve it. Something's wrong alright, and it's Gilbert's vehement refusal to be a realist. That kind of position is not a good example for wives to set.
