Snake found at riot scene

A poisonous snake was found at the scene of a Muslim riot:
Security forces tending to violent disturbances near the West Bank village of Silwad on Friday night were met not only by rioters, but a venomous snake.

Border Police and IDF forces discovered a viper while trying to take shelter at the scene where Palestinians rioters were throwing Molotov cocktails and stones.

The riot control forces were attempting to take cover behind a concrete barrier constructed for such a purpose, when they discovered the serpent bound over their heads to the slab in an apparent attempt to cause harm to the Israeli forces.

Police Superintendent Aharon Moyal noted that "we have witnessed various attempts to harm [Israeli] forces, but even in this case their vigilance prevented such an incident."

No injuries or arrests were reported.
Where did the scum who put the snake there even get it? From a local breeding ground, I'd guess. The authorities are going to have to search for wherever these snakes could be raised, since serpents can also make dangerous weapons.

Haredi-controlled chief rabbinate should leave Shlomo Riskin alone

The Haredis running the rabbinate want to get rid of this veteran rabbi because he supports making conversations more welcoming for outsiders. But he's got support and is fighting back:
Efrat Chief Rabbi Shlomo Riskin is planning take his case to the Supreme Court of Israel if necessary, and Efrat Mayor Oded Ravivi says he is adamant Riskin must stay on, "regardless of what the Chief Rabbinate of Israel says."

Ravivi warned that he would not tolerate political interference from the country’s rabbinical council officials when there is a “clear consensus that Rabbi Riskin is performing his duties faithfully.” [...]

Meanwhile, Riskin himself has said that he will appeal the issue to the nation’s Supreme Court. In addition to serving as the Chief Rabbi of Efrat, Riskin also heads the Ohr Torah Stone institutions as well.
I applaud him for standing firm against the Haredi fruitcakes who despise his positions. It's been said this could precipitate people's feelings that the rabbinate should be closed down to prevent this kind of corruption from taking place. And at this point, I guess that's the best thing to do.

More on the topic here. Natan Sharansky's also voiced his support for Riskin.

The war crimes of Hamas

Amnesty International, of all sources, has accused Hamas of war crimes and violence:
Amnesty International said in a report on Wednesday that Hamas committed war crimes against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip during last summer's war with Israel.

"Hamas forces carried out a brutal campaign of abductions, torture and unlawful killings against Palestinians accused of 'collaborating' with Israel and others during Israel's military offensive against Gaza,"
the human rights group said in a report entitled "'Strangling Necks': Abduction, Torture and Summary Killings of Palestinians by Hamas Forces during the 2014 Gaza/Israel Conflict."

According to the London-based human rights group, some 23 Palestinians were shot and killed and dozens more were arrested and tortured by Hamas.
Yet it's nothing new; years before, the PLO committed similar crimes against their own subjects. Why only now are they gathering the brains to say so? They should've said it long ago.

Black IDF soldier beaten by racist policemen sues for damages

The Ethiopian Israeli who was assaulted by two officers who thought being policemen gave them free license to do whatever they wanted has filed a lawsuit:
The event that sparked the recent wave of protests in Israel's Ethiopian immigrant community has reached the courts: Damas Pakada, the soldier whose beating by police officers was caught on camera, has filed a lawsuit against the Israel Police and is demanding NIS 390,000 ($101,000) in compensation.

The defendants named in the suit are police officer Yan Subichky and a police volunteer.

In the introduction to the suit, filed in the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court by attorney Eyal Abulafia on behalf of Pakada, Abulafia called the appalling incident "an indictment" against the organizational, racist and violent culture of the police. According to Abulafia, the beating serves as a glimpse into what takes place when the police constantly behave violently toward civilians.
I say the two filthy excuses for humans who committed the crime while wearing uniforms should be bankrupted and locked away.

A Dutch school textbook distorts Israeli history

Propaganda was discovered in Holland's education system:
An official high school history book in Holland claims that during Israel’s 1948 War of Independence, “Jewish militias committed murder in Arab villages. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians fled and arrived in refugee camps across the border.”

Barak Gorni, a 16-year-old Dutch Israeli attending the Maimonides Jewish high school in Amsterdam, was the first to notice and call attention to the false and distorted depiction of Israel’s history. In another instance, the book says that “[former prime minister] Menachem Begin entered the history books as a peacemaker, and this is surprising, because for much of his life he was known as a terrorist and a radical.”
So only an Israeli could possibly be a terrorist, and not Islamofascists. Tomorrow, there's every chance David Ben-Gurion will be subject to these blood libels too. Maybe even Michael Collins, leader of the Irish resistance in the early 20th century. The Israeli embassy and foreign ministry are already looking into this, and they should demand it be removed from classrooms immediately.

Texan senate passes anti-sharia bill

Another success for freedom in another American state:
On Thursday night, May 21, the Texas state senate passed a bill that would prevent any international law from being used in Texas civil courts in deciding disputes. Radio station WOAI characterized the bill as an “anti-sharia” bill, but state Senator Donna Campbell said that her bill doesn’t mention sharia law at all, just that it guarantees that no law from “foreign courts” would be used to override American law in settling civil matters.

When pressed for clarification about just which such laws she was concerned about, and could she provide an example, she whiffed: “No foreign law [specifically].… This just provides a context for judicial discretion … that we don’t trump Texas law, American law, with a foreign law regarding family law.”
Exactly. And European governments are going to have to start showing the guts to pass similar laws too, if they want to save their continent.

Soldier at Fort Polk gets his long overdue Purple Heart

A soldier from Fort Polk who'd been wounded by Nidal Hasan at Fort Hood has finally received the medal he should've gotten long ago:
Nov. 5, 2009, dawned like most any other day for Pvt. Alan Carroll. The 20-year-old native of Anchorage, Alaska, had recently finished combat engineer training and was assigned to the 510th Sapper Company, 20th Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade at Fort Hood, Texas.

“There was nothing real significant about the day,” Carroll said. “Just a normal day.”

But by day’s end, it would be anything but insignificant as Carroll and more than 40 of his friends, fellow soldiers and Army civilians would be wounded by Maj. Nidal Hasan in a shooting at the sprawling post in central Texas.

On May 21, Staff Sgt. Alan Carroll was awarded the Purple Heart during a ceremony at Fort Polk for the wounds he received in the shooting on Nov. 5, 2009, based on recent legislation that authorized those injured in the attack to receive the medal.

Carroll recently reflected on the day that changed his life. His unit was preparing for a deployment to Afghanistan that day, and he and some of his buddies were waiting to be checked by medical personnel after receiving their smallpox vaccinations. At about 1:30 p.m., their lives would change forever.
Read the rest at the link. The top brass owe tremendous apologies to hard-working soldiers for all the negligence they caused that led to this tragedy.

Ehud Olmert given 8 months in Talansky retrial

While it may be added to a 6 year sentence in the Holyland case, 8 months is far too little:
Former prime minister Ehud Olmert on Monday was sentenced by the Jerusalem District Court to eight months of jail time on his conviction for fraud under aggravated circumstances in the Talansky retrial. The court also fined Olmert NIS 100,000.

Olmert lawyers appealed the sentence and the court agreed to their request to hold off the sentence for 45 days for time to appeal.

The former prime minister's lawyer Eyal Rozovsky told the media at the courthouse that he respects the court's decision but there were difficulties and mistakes in it.

"We tried convincing the court of the justice of our case. Olmert isn't happy. We wanted no jail time," Rozovsky said.
Yeah, they always want these convictions to carry no jail time. And they they'll probably appeal even this sentence to forestall his entry into the pokey for as long as possible. Hopefully, he'll end up in a cell for a change, but for now, he sure is trying to stay out as long as he can. An utterly disgraceful man Olmert is.

Bin Laden read far left literature

This isn't so surprising one of the worst Islamofascists of the 21st century read the work of the worst western leftists (Hat tip: Accuracy in Media):
The English-language bookshelf in Usama bin Laden’s personal library featured a collection of anti-U.S. polemics and left-wing conspiracy theories from some celebrated darlings of American academia, according to critics who analyzed the terror mastermind's reading list.

Anti-American conspiracy tomes on everything from the CIA to the Federal Reserve were among the 39 English books seized from the Al Qaeda leader’s compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, where a team of Navy SEALs took him out in May 2011. [...]

Noam Chomsky, William Blum and Bob Woodward appeared to be among the terrorist kingpin’s favorite authors to curl up with. Chomsky, the liberal icon and MIT professor known for his disparaging view of the U.S., had two of his works in the Bin Laden collection, "Necessary Illusions: Thought Control in Democratic Societies" and "Hegemony or Survival: America’s Quest for Global Dominance."
Depending on the situation, there's a very probably chance these crazies may have influenced autocrats overseas with their horrific viewpoints. Is it any wonder they're such a bad lot?

"Chained women" in Australia

The Daily Life has an article about presumably Haredi women stuck in marriages where the husband refuses to write up a get.
Hundreds of Jewish women stare down at a rabbi in a school hall. The Victorian chapter of the National Council of Jewish Women of Australia has called a meeting tonight to discuss agunot, "chained women". These are the women whose husbands refuse to hand over a religious divorce certificate, a gett. Without a gett, the woman are forbidden to remarry under Jewish law.

"You have the absolute responsibility to answer her question now!" one woman screams at the rabbi. An excited "oooh" rolls through the crowd. The question the woman wants answered: Why won't rabbis change the laws around divorce?

These women cry they can't remarry without a gett. But they can. An agunah (singular for agunot) can remarry any man she wants under Australian law. So why do Australian Jewish women, many secular, feel chained by this one ancient law?
I'm not sure they answered that clearly here, but one thing is certain: those who refuse are making complete fools of themselves.

Also, one woman said the following:
What would God have done had she remarried under civil law?

"I don't think God would do anything," Rosemary admits. "But I would feel very bad in myself. We were brought up fairly religious and I keep everything as best I can."
Oh for crying out loud! If God wouldn't condemn her for getting a civil divorce, then why feel guilty? It would not be going against Judaism at all, just against customs of a specific movement, as I'm guessing is the case here.
Rabbi Avrohom Jacks is the black-bearded rabbi under siege at the agunah meeting. He is an associate judge at the Melbourne beth din, the rabbinical court that oversees divorces and conversions.

At his dining table, I pitch an explanation for the law: an obstacle so that couples think again before deciding to split. Rabbi Jacks shakes his head. We need not seek a rational reason.

"If my three-year-old wants to play with a shiny knife," the rabbi says, "when I take the knife away from her, she thinks I'm a monster. Basically I have to tell her, 'Look, you're only three years old. Your maturity and understanding is far inferior to my adult understanding.' We look at God's rules in the same way."

He says God told Moses the gett law around 3000 years ago. The consequence of betraying God carries on through the generations. "This is the most tragic thing," Rabbi Jacks says solemnly. If a woman without a gett has a child with another man, that child is branded a mamzer.

"Is that a bastard or something?" I ask.

"Yeah," Rabbi Jacks concedes. This cruel label has real-world repercussions. A mamzer is prohibited from marrying anyone, except another mamzer. "It's a stigma that's passed on forever," the rabbi declares.
Well if he doesn't approve, why does he presumably fail to tell people they can abandon such crap? I get the feeling he's distorting what God told Moses, and worst, that he's putting words in God's mouth, which is basically violating the Commandment stating Thou Shalt Not Use God's Name In Vain. At the end, they say:
I ask Doreen Beckwith why she and Colin chased Victor for a decade, trying to secure a gett or death certificate. "Why not get married in a liberal synagogue, on day one? Did you think God would be angry with -"

"No, it's nothing to do with God!" she interrupts. "It is your principles and how you look at these things, how you feel about future generations. No, no, it's nothing to do with God. Nothing at all!"
Good grief, this one comes off sounding like an atheist! She sounds more like somebody who imprisons herself in a shoddy custom because she doesn't have the courage to fight for better standards. If that's how she's going to go, then she's practically doing God a disfavor. A major disappointment we have here. Additionally embarrassing is how the people cited in this article are basically declaring democratic laws invalid, illegal and illegitimate, all because the custom they go by is inexplicably more vital. All they've done is make themselves look stupid.

CAIR agent loses in Sacramento election

Thank goodness a CAIR rep lost in an election for public office:
[1]Basim Elkarra, executive director of the Sacramento chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), and a former member of the California Democratic Party’s executive board, has been defeated in his first run for public office [2]. An anonymous flier stirred some controversy during the race, but key background on Elkarra failed to emerge.

In late 2006, California Senator Barbara Boxer gave Basim Elkarra a certificate of appreciation “in recognition of his efforts to protect civil liberties and to build bridges among diverse communities in California.” The senator quickly revoked the award, explaining that her California office had not vetted CAIR sufficiently. In “Senators for Terror,” [3] Joe Kauffman charted CAIR’s connections to Islamic extremism, and cited evidence that, “Elkarra himself is a radical, apart from his connection to CAIR.” Elkarra had defended Lodi, California, imam Shabbir Ahmed, [4] who urged Pakistanis to wage jihad against Americans. Another local imam, Mohammed Adil Khan, was building a madrassa to recruit children for violent acts against the United States. Elkarra described Khan, who was later deported, as “a pioneer in interfaith work.”

In 2007, Basim Elkarra refused to condemn Hamas and Hezbollah as terrorist groups. He has also suggested that “Islamophobes” be prosecuted like Holocaust deniers. In April of 2000, as a member of the Muslim Students Association (MSA) at UC Berkeley, Elkarra moderated an event featuring Hamas operative Mohammad Salah, labeled a terrorist by President Clinton. Even so, Elkarra had his defenders in northern California.

“I know Elkarra,” wrote Ginger Rutland, then associate editor of the Sacramento Bee. “I don’t believe he supports terrorism.” [5] Rutland described Elkarra as a “personable young University of California, Berkeley, graduate” who had “assumed the helm of the local CAIR chapter at a perilous time for Muslims in this country.” Senator Boxer “must understand what her casual withdrawal of a casually awarded tribute means to a Muslim American at this moment in American history. Shame on her.” But Boxer defended her actions [6].

“I’m just doing what I think is right,” the California Senator told reporters. Elkarra charged that Boxer had “succumbed to pressure from those who would marginalize American Muslims using smears and guilt by association.” He also claimed he received death threats after the award’s withdrawal but the FBI told Boxer’s staff that the threat was “not credible” and Elkarra maintained a high profile with CAIR. In 2010 the Muslim organization gave a $250 campaign contribution to Ami Bera, a local Democrat running for Congress against Dan Lungren. When local Republicans questioned whether the money came from a terrorist, Bera duly returned the contribution [7] to Basim Elkarra because of questions about CAIR’s affiliations.
And thank goodness Boxer withdrew the award she initially gave to Elkarra too. The reporter who tried to attack her for that is the one who should be ashamed.

Once again, a Haredi news source censors women's images, this time government ministers

The Haredi news companies are still intent on drawing attention away from more pressing issues, as this time, when the government was sworn in, they blotted out the faces of 3 lady officials:
Another group of women in powerful positions, another haredi Orthodox paper erasing them. Here we go again.

After each new Israeli government is sworn in, its ministers pose for a group photo with the president. This year’s photo, taken yesterday, features Israel’s three women ministers in the middle row — Culture and Sport Minister Miri Regev, Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked and Senior Citizens, Minorities and Gender Equality Minister Gila Gamliel.

Regev, Shaked and Gamliel are all smiling. But if you saw the photo on haredi news site B’hadrei Haredim, you wouldn’t know that. Their faces are all blurred out.
Their names weren't even mentioned in one report. Here's more about the latest case on the UK Telegraph. It's regrettable that these Haredi sites/papers are only making themselves look foolish as usual, and committing gneivat daat, which translates as deceit.

Illinois legislature passes bill to counter anti-Israeli boycotts

The state legislature of Illinois approved a bill aimed at cutting down on BDS:
Illinois lawmakers have passed a bill that would compel the state’s public-employee pension funds to unload investments in companies that participate in boycotts against Israel.

The measure unanimously passed the Illinois House of Representatives on Monday. The Illinois Senate approved it by a vote of 49-0 in April. Sponsors say they seek to counter efforts by an international pro-Palestinian campaign, known as the BDS movement (boycott, divestment and sanctions) to isolate the Jewish state.
There's more about this at the Wash. Post too. The state senators did the right thing. No sensible person should associate themselves with the BDS movement.

Saudi Arabia looks to hire more executioners

The House of Saud is stepping up one of their worst specialties - beheadings:
On Monday, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Civil Service listed on its website eight new job openings for the position of executioner. The job responsibilities will likely include beheadings and amputations–two of the most prominent punishments for violations, including drug smuggling, arms dealing, murder, and rape.

According to The New York Times, pay was not listed, and there are few prerequisites for the job, which might be a laborious task when considering the Saudi Kingdom has already committed 85 executions this year; that number is just three shy of the 88 individuals who were beheaded in 2014 alone. Their only requirement for the role of headsmen? “Carrying out the death sentence according to Islamic Shariah after it is ordered by a legal ruling.”

The Times notes that in Qassim Province, a swordsman could fetch more than $1,000 per head for an execution. The individual beheaded Sunday was executed for a nonviolent drug offense; 38 of the executions so far have been drug-related. Beheadings are reportedly considered the most efficient way to deter crimes in Saudi Arabia, notes the Times. According to the International Business Times, Saudi Arabia consistently ranks in the top five among world nations that put people to death. It ranked third in 2014, after China and Iran.
Truly sick. But would they really punish rapists? I think the chances they'll enact serious steps against rapists is inaccurate, because in regimes like Saudi Arabia, it's the victims who're victimized further. So I don't get why they put in that part about rapists being decapitated, since the notion rapists are punished under sharia is pretty exaggerated.

Jerusalem Day celebrated with new memorial hall at Ammunition Hill

This past day was a celebration of the reunification:
After 30 years of neglect, the Ammunition Hill Memorial Site revealed a new Memorial Hall, the first part of its multi-million dollar makeover on Sunday, Jerusalem Day, the celebration over the reunification of the city in the 1967 Six Day War.

Ammunition Hill was the site of a battle waged by the Paratroopers’ Brigade during the war. The outpost’s bunkers and trenches, which made the battle so difficult to win, still criss-cross the hill and have long served as a destination for school children and tourists, learning about the battle over Jerusalem.

The site, viewed by many as symbolic of the city’s reunification, remained in need of renovation for more than 30 years and was almost closed down due to lack of funds.

It was then classified as a “national heritage site,” which paved the way for plans to preserve and renovate the site.
That's good.

New memos reveal Obama administration lied about Benghazi

The Right Scoop reports that there's some new memos telling what was really known about the horror in Benghazi:
According to another memo dated September 16, 2012, just FIVE DAYS after the attack on the ‘consulate’ in Benghazi, the Obama administration via the DNI concluded that the terrorist attack had been planned at least 10 days before the attack occurred and that it wasn’t a coincidence that it happened on the anniversary of 9/11. If you recall, the Obama administration was lying about it, saying it was a demonstration against a film about the Prophet Muhammad that got out of control. They were saying this on the very same day this DNI memo went out to different agencies including the National Security Council and the State Department.
Now, the real picture has been uncovered, and it's simply awful.

Charlie Hebdo's staff goes hypocritical, suspending writer criticial of Islam

Was this bound to happen? Probably inevitable, but here's a case that's now caused outrage (Hat tip: Jihad Watch):
Satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo has been accused of hypocrisy after it suspended a journalist who has received death threats for her articles attacking Islamic extremism.

Zineb El Rhazoui, 33, was called to a preliminary dismissal hearing to remind her of her ‘obligations’ towards the French weekly following ‘numerous incidents’.

The French-Moroccan columnist accused her employers of trying to ‘punish her’ for speaking out about the direction of the magazine four months after the jihadist attack which left 12 dead.

‘I am shocked and appalled that a management that has received so much support after the January attacks could show so little support for one of its employees, who is under pressure like everyone in the team and has faced threats,’ she told Le Monde.

‘My husband lost his job and had to leave Morocco because the jihadists revealed his workplace. I am under threat and having to live with friends or in a hotel and the management is thinking of firing me. Bravo Charlie.’

The move has prompted outrage on social media with thousands calling the decision ‘absurd’ and bewildering’.

Mrs El Rhazoui and her husband, Moroccan writer Jaouad Benaïssi, received death threats on Twitter from people claiming to be from Islamic State in February.

Photoshopped images of the couple dressed as ISIS prisoners about to be executed emerged on social media along with a map showing the places the journalist often visited.
Is this how to treat somebody who's been threatened with death? Absolutely not, and if the editors really don't want people to think they've turned full-fledged cowards now, they'll cease all acts of negativity against the woman immediately. They could end up losing audience if they go the dhimmi route for real.

Boston jihadist Dzhokhar Tsarnaev gets the death sentence

The verdict is in for the savage who murdered and maimed people at Boston's marathon: he gets the poison syringe:
BOSTON— Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, a former college student who along with his brother planted twin bombs near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, was sentenced to death Friday for his role in the 2013 attacks that killed three people

The jury deliberated for more than 14 hours before reaching its decision.

Standing at the defense counsel’s table between his lawyers, Mr. Tsarnaev showed no emotion as the decision was read. Onlookers in the courtroom included the parents of 8-year-old Martin Richard, the youngest victim.

The grim-faced defense team left the courthouse in silence and declined to answer questions. Massachusetts U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz said the trial showed that “we are not intimidated by acts of terror or radical ideals.”
Tsarnaev fully deserves what he'll hopefully get. He should get worse than poison - a shotgun blast that disintegrates his head at close range would be an even better way to get rid of him.

Stabbing attack thwarted in Silwan neighborhood

Another terrorist attack that was stopped:
The Shin Bet and Jerusalem Police prevented a stabbing attack on a Jewish security guard in east Jerusalem, according to a statement by the security agency on Thursday.

The Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) said that earlier this month they and the Jerusalem Police arrested three suspects – Muhammad Nasser Ahmed Abassi, 21, Murad Muhammad Uda Kustiro, 23, and a minor – on suspicion of plotting an attack on security guards stationed outside of Beit Ovadia, a Jewish building in the mainly Palestinian neighborhood of Silwan.

The Shin Bet said Abassi confessed to having the minor carry out surveillance on the house ahead of a planned shooting attack. Abassi later decided that a stabbing attack had more potential to work, so he acquired a knife and axe and stashed them at his house and his grandfather’s house, the Shin Bet said.

He also admitted to making pipe bombs and Molotov cocktails which were used against Israeli police during recent rioting in east Jerusalem.

According to the Shin Bet, Abassi is affiliated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, while the other two are not linked to any group.
It doesn't make much difference whether they're part of a terrorist cell or not. The problem is that the criminals worship the Koran.

Harry Maryles adds insult to injury

I once thought Chicago-based rabbi Harry Maryles was a pretty good blogger on many pressing issues. There were some points on which I disagreed with him, but overall, he did seem to be on the mark with many topics.

Unfortunately, he's now thrown away much of what I would like to appreciate about him for the sake of attacking Pamela Geller (and by extension, Robert Spencer), by accusing her of being an inciter, and otherwise letting jihadists off the hook:
I don’t know whether Pamela Geller is a fool or just plain evil. But one thing she is for sure is wrong. And I am outraged by her tactics.
But you're not outraged at the twosome who tried to murder people at the convention, Maryles?
There are few rational people in the world that justify what these 2 terrorists tried to do. Including the vast majority of Muslims. They were unquestioningly evil - despite the fact that they believed they were defending the honor of Islam. But does that make what Pamela Geller did OK? Not in my view.
Uh oh. Here's where he goes soft as mud on Muslims as a whole, and ignores what's said about how there may be moderate Muslims, but no moderate Islam. It gets worse:
The attack was precipitated by Ms. Geller and friends by basically spitting in the face of Islam and calling it free speech. She may have that right. Free speech is protected in this country no matter how hateful it is. Unless it can cause harm to the public. Like yelling ‘Fire’ in a crowded theater when there is no actual fire. The question is, was that the case here? Was what Ms. Geller did here comparable to that?
Gee, what about all the times when Islamofascists did worse than spit, by murdering Jews in the name of the Koran? Maryles misses the point by galaxies - Geller and company were trying to send a message that they will not let Islamic violence silence or intimidate free people. They were also running the contest as a special form of support for those murdered in the name of jihad, like Charlie Hebdo's contributors. And instead of appreciating the idea they had in mind, all he can do is say just what the left would want to hear? Maryles is one of the dumbest people I've ever known.
The event she and others hosted was a contest to see who would create the best caricature of the Islam’s founder, Muhammad. Drawing images of Muhammad is at the very least frowned upon if not outright forbidden by Islamic law. And if it is done in any kind for disrespectful way, it is a cause of great outrage.

Which will inspire a few of the Jihadists among them to try and murder those who do . By now that is no secret. That’s what precipitated the massacre at the offices of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo last January in France. Over the years they had published a series of embarrassing caricatures of Muhammad. And they were not the first to experience terror as the result of insulting Islam’s founder.
Excuse me? Here's where a flaw turns up: EVERY way Muhammed were to be drawn is considered disrespectful to Muslims. In the mind of an Islamofascist, drawing Muhammed at all is haram (taboo). The most telling sign Maryles is badly informed (and uses the wrong booleans - "for" instead of "of"). And he doesn't make it any better when he dismisses Charlie Hebdo's caricatures as mere embarrassments.
What possible motive could she have had in holding a competition like this? Protecting free speech? Free speech was doing just fine before she started disparaging other religions. By holding this competition she is perceived even by decent Muslims to be spitting in their face! It is pure folly to do that, not only because you are daring extremists to massacre you, your fellow organizers and participants... but because it is reprehensible to publicly disparage the icons of other religions. It spreads hate and generates retaliation from Jihadists all too eager exact revenge. Which is what happened at Charlie Hebdo in France. And was attempted in Garland, Texas.
Oh really, is it? You have cases of gays and lesbians suing Christian businesses for daring to object to their lifestyle and mentality, while otherwise ignoring Muslim businesses for the same. And, you have CAIR suing writers for exposing their own evil deeds. What else doesn't Maryles understand in his poor education? What he's doing is just what evil misogynists who believe women are to blame for sexual assault because of how they dress or look. In fact, one of the commenters asked:
Here's a similar question:

Suppose signs were posted in a predominantly muslim neighborhood in America that warned that any woman wearing shorts or a tank-top would be subject to beating. Suppose that women have been beaten and murdered when they ignored the signs. Would not the proper response to that be to keep organizing marches through the town with women wearing shorts? Until it became clear that it was safe for them to do it even when alone? Would you consider it wrong to organize that march?

Set aside the issue of whether Geller is self-serving, unlikable or unintelligent, and tell me whether you would call the 'women in shorts' marches evil, despicable, and reprehensible, or whether the marches would be exactly what's needed.
Yes, I want to know what this two-face would say if women were to protest a horrific murder/rape with a special march through a Muslim neighborhood. Maryles is the same man who allegedly finds Haredi extremism reprehensible, but his comments about Geller's contest put that in doubt.

Clifford May had a much better argument than Maryles, and said:
There can be no exceptions to protect the sensibilities of those perceived as "marginalized, ‎embattled, and victimized," nor to mollify Islamic State terrorists -- who have issued a ‎communiqué threatening to "slaughter" Geller -- and such characters as Anjem Choudary, ‎the British Muslim activist who on television last week asserted that by now everyone should ‎understand that drawing Muhammad "carries the death penalty in Islam." His further ‎implication: Islamic law now applies to everyone everywhere. Obey or die.‎
Is that what Maryles wants people to think he favors? For now, I've concluded that most of his arguments on extremism in the Haredi world are unconvincing, and most of his tone way too soft.

Racist police officer from Holon will be fired

The racist officer who attacked an Ethiopian soldier in Holon will be thrown out:
Israel Police Commissioner Insp. Gen. Yohanan Danino announced Wednesday that a police officer recently filmed beating Ethiopian-Israeli soldier Damas Pakada will be dismissed.

Pakada's beating, which appeared on the tape to be unprovoked, sparked a mass anti-racism demonstration in Tel Aviv earlier this month, ending in violent clashed between protesters and police and leaving 65 people injured.

Danino recounted that at the disciplinary hearing two days ago, the offending officer "made a lot of arguments. But after considering all the legal aspects, I made the decision to dismiss him from the police force."
Thanks to that filth who thought he could do whatever he wanted just because he was a policeman, now we've got blacks in this country who've been outraged when it could've been avoided. The ex-policeman is probably even overjoyed at all the trouble he's caused that leftists could exploit for their own selfish goals. He should be imprisoned for his sick acts for a long time.

Attorney-general says appointing Aryeh Deri a minister is difficult

Deri's conviction on corruption has been brought up, with good reason:
"The decision [to appoint him minister] causes some legal difficulties due to Deri's criminal past," Weinstein wrote, referring to corruption charges for which the Shas leader spent two years in prison before being released in 2002.
Of course, and he honestly doesn't deserve to be a politician any longer. If a petition's been launched against an appointment for him, it's okay, because he is a bad lot, and is bound to continue that way.

The Vatican has delegitimized Israel

It looks like the Vatican and its current pope could not be trusted to realize they'll only be encouraging Islamofascists with their dhimmi steps:
The Vatican officially recognized the state of Palestine in a new treaty finalized Wednesday, immediately sparking Israeli ire and accusations that the move hurt peace prospects.

The treaty, which concerns the activities of the Catholic Church in Palestinian territory, makes clear that the Holy See has switched its diplomatic recognition from the Palestine Liberation Organization to the state of Palestine.

The Vatican had welcomed the decision by the U.N. General Assembly in 2012 to recognize a Palestinian state. But the treaty is the first legal document negotiated between the Holy See and the Palestinian state and constitutes official diplomatic recognition.

“Yes, it’s a recognition that the state exists,” said the Vatican spokesman, the Rev. Federico Lombardi.

The Israeli foreign ministry said it was “disappointed” by the development.
And all the while they fail epically to speak in clear defense of Christians in Muslim countries who're now being persecuted by the ummah. I can't respect pope Francis if this is how he's going to conduct his business. No wonder faith in Christianity may be fading among various world publics disillusioned when they realize the leaders are weaklings. The dhimmis are only causing discouragement.

Jihadists are the obscenity, not Pamela Geller

Peter Wehner at Commentary comes to Geller's defense over the Muhammed cartoon contest, and notes how horrific it is that a blame-the-victim narrative is being employed:
The storyline isn’t about the rise of ISIS-inspired terrorists on the American homeland; it’s on Ms. Geller’s provocations. One cannot help but sense in the coverage that many journalists believe Ms. Geller had this coming. After all, she was using “fighting words” and “hate speech.” The logic of Ms. Geller’s critics goes like this: Ms. Geller was doing something she knew would provoke a violent response and therefore she (the intended victim) is the person to blame. Women are unfortunately all too familiar with this kind of ugly storyline. [...]

I find it rather stunning that those whose profession depends on freedom of speech are so eager to cater to those who are undermining it. The thinking of many in the political class seems to be that if cartoons are deemed offensive and off limits by jihadists, then the cartoons are offensive and off limits. Ms. Geller, however imperfect she may be, decided she wouldn’t go along with this game. She wouldn’t play by jihadi rules. If the demand by Islamists is you can’t draw cartoons of Muhammed, her response was: Oh yes we can. Certainly in America we can.
And those who really, truly do value free speech would do well to defend the right to draw pictures of figures who're supposedly off limits for illustration. The mindset now being employed by the MSM is the same kind used to blame rape victims by claiming they had it coming because they were beautiful and/or how they dress, which is not true at all.

Sara Netanyahu fights back against corrupt ex-employee

The prime minister's wife has gone to court to testify against Meni Naftali, the former employee at the PM's residence who betrayed her, backed by a hostile press:
Sara Netanyahu, the prime minister’s wife, claimed in court Sunday that the publisher of the Yedioth Ahronoth daily was backing a former caretaker at the Prime Minister’s Residence who is alleging that she mistreated employees.

“There’s a very strong media figure behind Menny Naftali,” Sara Netanyahu said — referring to Arnon Moses of Yedioth — when she took the stand to answer allegations made by Menny Naftali, the former caretaker, in a NIS 1 million ($258,000) civil suit.

“For over a year, I’ve been dragged through the mud publicly by Menny Naftali with support from the media,” Netanyahu claimed.

Asked about Moses later in the hearing, she said, “He’s like [the character in] Harry Potter, he who cannot be named,” referring to the villain Lord Voldemort in the popular book series.

Sunday’s hearing marks the first time Netanyahu has publicly addressed Naftali’s allegations. She said he was seeking to extort money from the state’s coffers.

Netanyahu also said that for the last 18 months Naftali “threatened and blackmailed” the Prime Minister’s Office and claimed she had text messages to prove it.

She told the court that while he was working for her family, Naftali often spoke crudely and was physically abusive to her children and their friends when they visited. She said that a fear of negative media attention prevented her from firing him earlier.
So in earlier times, he counted on her reluctance to stand up to him because she was afraid of media backlash over peanuts. He is truly disgusting, and so too is the Yediot publisher's willingness to back him. I hope she wins this lawsuit and makes clear to the leftist screwballs that this cannot go on. More about this case over here.

Racist treatment of Ethiopians hurts Israel

A writer for Israel National News says that the way blacks like Damas Pakada were treated by racist police officials is a shame unto the nation:
To watch the video of Damas Pakada, an Ethiopian IDF soldier, being beaten by a police officer and a passing volunteer is to feel revulsion. It is also a jarring reminder of what Israel and its Zionist dream must face and tackle.

Let’s be clear. For a Zionist, one who believes that the return of Jews to our Homeland is a divinely inspired and holy act, the plight of the Ethiopians is not a source of guilt, but a source of shame.

The story of bringing the Ethiopian Jewish community to Israel is one of the great humanitarian stories of our time. It flies in the face of the institutionalized prejudice that pervades the western world and is a great reminder that Zionism is about the ingathering of all Jews from wherever they might be, regardless of whom they are. [...]

The situation is more complicated because of language, custom, educational and basic cultural disparities. Yes, blackness has something to do with it as well, but Israel is used to people of “color” – Yemenites, most prominently, but also Cochin Jews from the Indian sub-continent, and many dark Mizrachi Jews.
Yes, they too, along with "settlers" have been victims of this kind of horrific prejudice that from what I can tell, stems to some extent from the left, which wasn't exactly hospitable on their part to most of these groups. And it's damage that'll take a lot of work to repair.

George Galloway ousted from UK parliament

Not only did the UK Conservative party win pretty well in this year's parliamentary election, the most definite good news is that one of the worst members of the House of Commons lost his seat there:
As David Cameron's Conservative party seals its victory in Thursday's UK general elections, two radically anti-Israeli MPs infamous for a long past of comments edging on anti-Semitism have lost their posts.

In Bradford West, MP George Galloway failed in his re-election bid, with Labor's Naseem Shah thrashing him soundly in the polls. Shah won 19,977 votes, whereas Galloway's Respect party fielded a mere 8,557, and George Grant of the Conservative party came third with 6,160.

After winning, Shah said Galloway's election campaign had "demeaned democracy," and she told him "you have been sent on your way."

Adding insult to injury, Galloway was also reported to police for retweeting his own party's exit polls before the voting ended. A screen capture proved he had made the tweet, even after he deleted it. The action is illegal according to section 66 of the Representation of the People's Act; police are currently reviewing the matter.

But the radical MP apparently was not to be deterred, announcing his intentions to run for the post of London Mayor.

Another anti-Israeli MP lost his post as well, with David Ward of the Liberal Democrat party falling in Bradford East.
Good they're gone, but it'll be bad if Galloway gets to run for mayor of London.

FBI warned Texas police about jihadists before cartooning contest took place

It looks like the FBI deserves some congratulations for being on the alert too (Hat tip: Accuracy in Media):
The Federal Bureau of Investigation warned police in Garland, Texas, about three hours before a shooting at an exhibit of caricatures of the Prophet Mohammad that a gunman who launched a failed attack was interested in the event, FBI Director James Comey said on Thursday.

The FBI issued a bulletin to the police department saying Elton Simpson had an interest in the event held in the Dallas suburb but gave no indication that he planned an attack, Comey told reporters in Washington, according to an FBI spokesman.
It's good they were keeping track of the danger lurking. We must take our hats off to the brave FBI officials who offered great help.

Not everyone at Fox News supports free speech as well as they could

The Wash. Examiner (via Accuracy in Media) lets everyone know why it's a serious mistake to think everybody at Fox is a saint:
Fox News has fallen somewhere in the middle, with several hosts and contributors stressing this week the importance of free speech — so long as it's safe.

"The American Freedom Defense Initiative spurred a violent incident," longtime host Bill O'Reilly alleged Tuesday. "Insulting the entire Muslim world is stupid…It does not advance the cause of liberty or get us any closer to defeating the savage jihad."

He added that free speech is indeed important, but that those principles are "not in play" in the AFDI situation. Further, O'Reilly said, "Just because you can say it doesn't mean you should say it…It is stupid. It accomplishes nothing."

Conservative radio host and Fox contributor Laura Ingraham agreed, saying Tuesday that everyone should avoid being "unnecessarily" offensive.

"It is not beneficial to us as Americans to criticize an entire faith, and what was done at this convention doesn't accomplish anything," she said. "There are a lot of things that we can say, that we have a right to say, that we shouldn't say."

Referring to Chris Ofili's infamous "The Holy Virgin Mary," a likeness of Jesus' mother fashioned out of dung, Ingraham said she supported the artist's right to free expression — but she maintained it's unnecessarily stupid and offensive.

"We shouldn't unnecessarily insult people, personal attacks," she said, adding of the AFDI event that, "It does not…accomplish anything [and] it could make things worse for us."

O'Reilly concurred, saying that his position is "what is best for the country" and not "emotional."

Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum expressed on both television and social media that she disapproved of AFDI and its Muhammad contest.

"Don't stoop to [radical Islamists'] level," she said on Twitter in reference to the controversial art exhibit, adding later, "Just because you have a right to do something, doesn't mean it's the right thing to do."

Referring to Geller's many critics, McCallum explained the arguments against AFDI, saying in an interview with the group's founder that, "If you want to make a difference, you do it in a Christian way, you don't do it in a crass way by insulting someone's religion."
If that's supposed to mean by being a coward and remaining quiet, then somebody's insulted Christians at that station. Mainly Christians who're now being persecuted in Muslim lands. All this ghastly condemnation of Pamela Geller's group does is prove why Fox isn't much different from their leftist counterparts. Their approach predictably fails to condemn any and all Islamists who encourage these attacks. I'm sure none of this is new to Geller though, since she has spoken against Fox in the past.

Finally, a coalition deal was reached

Just 2 hours before the deadline, a deal was reached with the Jewish Home party that paves the way for a government coalition, narrow as it stands just now.

And man, did they really drag these coalition negotiations on and on and on to the bitter end. It was really unnecessary, and unfair to the electorate, though not as much as Avigdor Lieberman's own betrayal.

Now that a coalition's been formed, let's hope it'll suffice for the time being and avail this country what it needs.

Even conservatives can succumb to dhimmitude

Breitbart interviewed Pamela Geller about her next planned free speech conference, and she made sure to call out dhimmi rightists:
Breitbart News: Even some conservative columnists and a potential presidential candidate (Donald Trump) have resorted to personal attacks against you as a preface before arguing in defense of free speech. Why do you feel that so many have come to attack the messenger?

Pamela Geller: This is the problem with the conservatives. This is why we can never nominate qualified, brave, true conservative candidates. The conservative movement has trimmed to accommodate the leftist media so much that they’ve trimmed themselves out of principle. They attack me because they’re desperately afraid that the leftist media will smear them by association with me. It is an act of sheer cowardice.
Yes, in a day and age like this, why must they continue to fear leftist news sources? That only encourages radical leftists and Islamofascists to think they can cow rightists into submission too, and we can't stand for that.

She's right to keep on with more free speech conferences and send messages to enemies of freedom that free people won't be intimidated by their barbarism. And she should continue to speak out against dhimmified conservatives too.

Avigdor Lieberman undermines the right

Lieberman's unmasked himself as suspect, more than before, by refusing to join the government coalition at the last minute:
As coalition talks began to wind down in the days before Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu must present a coalition, Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Lieberman announced Monday that he was stepping down from his post as foreign minister and his party would not be joining the coalition.

Lieberman's move raised the prospect that Netanyahu, whose Likud party won the biggest bloc of votes in a March 17 election, will have to settle for a narrower coalition to secure a majority in the 120-seat parliament by the Wednesday deadline to form a government.

[...] Lieberman's once-powerful party plummeted in the March election to just six seats. Without Yisrael Beytenu, Netanyahu is expected to form a narrow, 61-seat coalition, leaving him susceptible to the demands of his coalition partners.

[...] Likud members were outraged by Lieberman's announcement, with one high-ranking Likud member saying, "Lieberman is the last person who can preach about opportunism. He is a cynic. The biggest opportunist of them all. He planned a putsch against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the last term, and aspired to be appointed prime minister as a compromise after the election.

"The unequivocal results of the last election, in which Likud won 30 Knesset seats, foiled Lieberman's plots and his plan failed. That is why he is now trying to drag the political arena down into a left-wing government headed by Isaac Herzog, while simultaneously serving outside interests both domestically and abroad in utter violation of the promise he made to his voters -- to support the establishment of a nationalist government.

"Lieberman has betrayed his voters. His criticism regarding the [concessions made by Netanyahu to] the ultra-Orthodox parties are completely baseless. Herzog agreed to give them the same things and even [Yesh Atid leader Yair] Lapid said that he would be willing to join a coalition with the ultra-Orthodox parties. The only way to reduce the parties' leverage in making coalition demands is to change the system of government, and that is something that the prime minister has announced that he plans to do."
Whatever demands Lieberman's got are hogwash, and he's never proven himself a very convincing politician so much as he has proven a corrupt one. Dror Eydar says:
In the last election, six seats were stolen from the Right by Lieberman, who received countless gifts and honors from the national camp, but never gave it anything in return. Over the past six years, Lieberman, mythologized as a "bulldozer," did nothing noteworthy in the realms of housing, transportation, education, industry and infrastructure, but he did stand out for his willingness to undermine conservative governments in which he held senior positions. Who will vote for him next time after his contradiction of his constituents' wishes? And what will Lieberman, who got used to doing nothing at the Foreign Ministry, do in the opposition?
He'll probably collaborate and conspire to topple the government. He's never made any clear ideological statements, and it's time for him to resign from politics; he's become irrelevant.

If the government collapses because of him, he'll be remembered in history as a pure disgrace, especially if his acts lead to a left-wing government coming into power and causing disaster. Let's hope those who voted for him will learn their lesson now.

Attempted shooting at free speech conference in Garland, Texas

At a Draw Muhammed contest Pamela Geller was co-managing in Texas, 2 jihadists tried to attack, but were fortunately gunned down before they could cause any disaster (Hat tip: Accuracy in Media):
A Texas traffic cop saved untold lives Sunday night when he took down two heavily armed men bent on storming a building where a 'Draw the Prophet' Muhammad contest was taking place, killing both before they could make their way inside.

The police officer, who has not been identified by Garland Police Department officials, "probably saved lives," said police spokesman Joe Harn, who added that "his reaction, and his shooting with a pistol, he did a good job."

Harn said the two suspects, believed to have driven some 1,100 miles from Phoenix to invade the contest at a suburban Dallas venue, shot assault rifles outside, wounding a security guard and hitting at least one police car. Local police, a SWAT team, FBI and ATF agents were on hand for the event, attended by 75 people, which authorities anticipated could anger Muslim hardliners. Authorities in Garland said the men -- wearing body armor -- drove up to the Curtis Culwell Center on Sunday night and began shooting at a security officer with assault rifles.

Two tweets apparently sent out prior to the shooting from two social media accounts linked to radical Islam seemed to foreshadow the attack. One, sent at 6:35 p.m., some 15 minutes before the attack, used the hashtag #texasattack. “May Allah accept us as mujahideen,” it said.

"We think [the suspects'] strategy was to get to the event center [and] into the event center," Harn said. "We were able to stop those men before they were able to... shoot anyone else."

But it was the unidentified Garland police officer, who spends most of his shift assigned to traffic duty, who killed both suspects, who were each dead at the scene.
And the patrolman should be congratulated for his quick action that saved many people. Those jihadists deserved all they got for plotting to murder people over some two-bit drawings of a warmonger.

Memorial for Ilan Halimi vandalized

A plaque dedicated to the memory of the French Jew murdered by a Muslim gang in Paris was vandalized (H/T: Jihad Watch):
The mayor of a Paris suburb has voiced his outrage after memorial plaque honoring Ilan Halimi – a young Jewish man tortured to death by a Muslim gang in 2006 – was desecrated by unidentified vandals.

The glass-and-stone plaque was found smashed at 18:00 on Saturday evening in Bagneux, a southern suburb of the French capital, according to Le Figaro, and has since been removed for repairs.

Bagneux mayor Marie-Hélène Amiable described the vandalism as “outrageous, unacceptable, I am extremely shocked.”
There was a report about 3 months ago that a memorial to the victims of the Charlie Hebdo bloodbath was vandalized too. That's another tactic of jihad - to desecrate memories.

Muslims in Congress kept up their hostility to Geert Wilders

3 Muslims in Congress tried to sabotage a visit by Geert Wilders:
As one of the world’s most prominent critics of Islam, Dutch lawmaker Geert Wilders doesn’t go anywhere without his security detail of as many as six plainclothes police officers, and he rarely crosses international borders without causing political uproar, having already been banned in Britain at one time.

So it was of little surprise that three U.S. congressmen urged Secretary of State John Kerry and Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson to deny him a visa ahead of his planned visit to the U.S. this week, due to his alleged ongoing “participation in inciting anti-Muslim aggression and violence.”

Reps. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., and André Carson, D-Ind., who both are Muslim, along with Rep. Joe Crowley, D-N.Y., wrote a letter April 23 citing “the International Religious Freedom Act which allows the Department of State to deny entry to a foreign leader who is responsible for severe violations of religious freedom.”

Nevertheless, Wilders – who insists he doesn’t hate Muslims but believes Western civilization is threatened by adherents of the Islamic supremacy taught in the Quran – showed up on Capitol Hill Wednesday and spoke at two events at the invitation of Reps. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, and Steve King, R-Iowa

King’s communications director, Sarah Stevens, told WND the congressman invited Wilders a month or so ago to speak at the weekly Conservative Opportunity Society breakfast he chairs. Wilders spoke Wednesday on his latest book, “Marked for Death: Islam’s War Against the West and Me,” and also attended an evening reception with Congress members and staff along with representatives of foreign-policy groups on Capitol Hill.

Ellison, Carson and Crowley showed up Thursday at a news conference King and Gohmert held for Wilders in front of the U.S. Capitol and voiced their opposition to the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf in a video interview.

“Personally, I find it disturbing, but mostly sad, because, you know, the people of the Netherlands are a good people, and this is absolutely true, with a great history of tolerance, great history of giving art to the world and great gifts,” Ellison said.

“And it’s unfortunate,” the Minnesota congressman continued, “that someone such as this would come over here and sort of represent himself as a member of that society.”

Wilders, for his part, would contend that Ellison actually is drawing attention to the central issue: It’s the intolerance of Muslim immigrants and their refusal to assimilate, Wilders argues, that threatens the historic Judeo-Christian Dutch culture that forms the basis of a tolerant, pluralistic society capable of “giving art to the world and great gifts.”
Frankly, I don't buy what Ellison's saying about Holland. That's all just taqqiya. I'm thankful to the GOP Congressmen who invited Wilders for a conference just as they did with Netanyahu a few months ago, and didn't let those Democrat disgraces get in the way.

Regavim tracks illegal EU-funded Arab construction in Israel

The Times of Israel wrote about Regavim, which is dedicated to defending the land of Israel, and is keeping track of EU efforts to delegitimize Israel:
Most recently, the group has chosen to focus on the European Union and its massive funding of illegal Bedouin construction in areas east of Jerusalem, commonly known as E-1. According to a report published in January titled “Illegal EU building in Adumim Region,” over the past two years the European Union has helped erect hundreds of illegal structures in area C of the West Bank, administratively controlled by Israel, in violation of Israeli building laws.

“One could never imagine that Germany would fund the building of thousands of illegal dwelling places in the suburbs of Paris as a ‘permanent solution’ for the Roma living in France, in complete opposition to the policy and laws of France,” claimed the report’s introduction.

Beyond its genuine concern for the well-being of the poorest Palestinians, the EU is politically motivated to entrench the Jahallin Bedouin on the strategic tracts of land they currently settle in order to maintain Arab contiguity between the northern and southern West Bank, Regavim argued. But the organization takes issue not only with Europe, but also with Israel’s bureaucracy and legal system which allows the situation to continue unabated.

“Europe has decided to go it alone, and Israel has decided to allow it,” said Ari Biggs, Regavim’s director of international relations. The EU did not submit a response to Regavim’s allegations by time of publication.
I figure they have no intention to, having made up their sick minds where they stand. This cannot be allowed to go on, and it's time to start cutting down on these stealth tactics the EU's engaging in.

Anti-settlement ads removed from Danish buses

An offensive anti-Israeli campaign was posted on buses in Denmark, and has thankfully been ceased:
COPENHAGEN, Denmark — Copenhagen’s public transport agency on Thursday ordered the immediate removal of posters opposing Israeli settlements on the capital’s city buses after getting “a considerable amount of complaints.”

Movia, owned by eastern Denmark local authorities, said the campaign by the Danish Palestinian Friendship Association was “unnecessarily offensive.”

The campaign that started Monday was calling for labels on goods produced in Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

“Our conscience is clean. We neither buy products from the Israeli settlements nor invest in the occupation industry,” the advertisement text read next to photos of two women only identified by their first names.

The company that runs the bus routes must remove the advertisements immediately from the 35 vehicles that displayed the posters, said the agency that is in charge of buses in Copenhagen.

“We got somewhere between 75 and 100 complaints, most of them in English,” Movia spokeswoman Camilla Struckmann told The Associated Press.
Whatever the language of the complainants, objecting was the right thing to do.

Baltimore riots affect even Jewish community

The riots, sparked by the death of a hoodlum suspect in a police car, have reached as far as a suburb in Baltimore where there's a Jewish community living, and from some of the news I read, at least one Jewish-owned store was looted by rioters. It's terrible that the race problems in America are still prevailing, even taking their toll on those with no known involvement.
