New assault claim made against Uchovsky
Police on Tuesday questioned screenwriter and producer Gal Uchovsky, one of Israel’s most prominent LGBTQ rights activists, after a new claim of sexual assault was filed against him. [...]Will the police and prosecution be willing to take legal action against Uchovsky this time? This is very serious, and if he was capable of acting that horrific, chances are there were several more crimes he committed as well. Any continued incompetence by police and prosecution in taking action against Uchovsky will only worsen a a bad situation. They must be willing to prove they can be serious about prosecuting him this time.
The new alleged offenses occurred during two incidents in the past two years against a man Uchovsky met through a dating app, police said. The complaint was filed against Uchovsky a few weeks ago, Haaretz reported.
Uchovsky is also suspected of threatening the man who filed the claim against him for ignoring his phone calls.
