Another beauty queen wastes her time with Richard Gere
Sushmita Sen, a Bollywood actress and former beauty queen from India, signed to co-star in a movie with Richard Gere, but quite frankly is wasting her time:
NEW DELHI (AP) - It's another pretty woman for Richard Gere. Bollywood star and former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen will co-star with Gere in a new movie titled "The Expat," the 30-year-old actress told the Times of India newspaper in an interview published Thursday. So, Gere plays the male lead, and presumably the movie lead as well? It should be Sen starring in the lead, not that moral equator Gere who's already gone around sympathising with the PLO. In fact, Gere shouldn't be in the movie at all, he should just retire already! Sen deserves much better than a phony like Gere.
"I have already signed (to do) the film. And yes, Richard Gere plays the male lead," Sen told the newspaper. She did not say when shooting was set to start.
The movie, to be shot in Argentina, is a Miramax production and will be directed by U.S.-based Sutapa Ghosh, she said.
"I am looking forward to working with Sutapa and Richard," said Sen, who says she will play the role of a foreigner living abroad.
Sen was crowned Miss India in 1994 and went on to win the Miss Universe pageant. She has since acted in more than 25 films in Bollywood, India's prolific and popular Hindi-language film industry.
Gere starred with Julia Roberts in 1990's "Pretty Woman." The 56-year-old actor's screen credits also include "An Officer and a Gentleman,""Chicago" and the upcoming "The Hoax," starring as Clifford Irving.
