Saddam sentenced to hang. Let's hope he does

It's about time, and I definitely hope he'll end up in the gallows where he belongs. Oh, and look at what he yelled out during the trial:
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Saddam Hussein was convicted and sentenced Sunday to hang for crimes against humanity in the 1982 killings of 148 people in a single Shiite town, as the ousted leader, trembling and defiant, shouted "God is great!"
Really, he yelled out "Allahu Akbar"? Proof that he is a true Muslim indeed. And there's more:
As he, his half brother and another senior official in his regime were convicted and sentenced to death by the Iraqi High Tribunal, Saddam yelled out, "Long live the people and death to their enemies. Long live the glorious nation, and death to its enemies!"
Which includes Saddam, of course.

More can be found at the LA Times. The sad part is that the sentence may have been appealed, and can be done automatically in Iraq. That's something that'll have to be changed, assuming that the region remains stable enough in the near future, because chances are that the situation could deteriorate.
