Obama snubbed the troops because no photo op was permitted
Barack Obama sure isn't making a good impression of himself if he's only willing to visit US troops provided that photo publicity is garunteed. And it seems that he turned his back on the troops in Ramstein because he couldn't get any pictures with them (Hat tip: Hot Air):
Update: and while we're on the subject, it's important to note that he never actually criticized the PLO/Fatah for incitement against Israel (Hat tip: IRIS Blog).

One military official who was working on the Obama visit said because political candidates are prohibited from using military installations as campaign backdrops, Obama’s representatives were told, “he could only bring two or three of his Senate staff member, no campaign officials or workers.” In addition, “Obama could not bring any media. Only military photographers would be permitted to record Obama’s visit.”This is certainly telling about Obama and just how much he supports the troops.
The official said “We didn’t know why” the request to visit the wounded troops was withdrawn. “He (Obama) was more than welcome. We were all ready for him.”
