Leftists who tried to boycott Ariel theater only helped it

The new theater center in Ariel had a successful opening, was sold out in tickets, and why? Simply put, because left-wing artists helped it. The article doesn't clearly mention, but left-wing artists' attempt to boycott was not very successful, and some even withdrew from it, as this article tells.
This editorial also notes:
Showbiz performers who politicize their careers are only going to cause themselves problems in the long-term. Just look at what happened to the Dixie Chicks after they went blabbering anti-war sentiments in Britain, suggesting they didn't have the courage to do so back in their own country.
This editorial also notes:
Actors, playwrights and directors who have joined the boycott might be applauded by left-wing activists here and abroad who advocate boycotts to coerce Israel into potentially irresponsible “peace” agreements with the highly problematic Palestinian leadership (rather than leaving the complexities of peacemaking to the duly elected government). But they stand to lose popularity among many, probably most, of their fellow Israelis who have a better grasp of local political realities – including the fact that Israel anticipates extending sovereignty to Ariel under any peace accord – and who may wish to punish them at the box office. So they should feel fortunate that the Ariel theater has had a successful opening in the end, because otherwise, their careers might peter out long-term.
