Security guard stabbed at Jerusalem's central bus station
A security guard is in severe condition following a stabbing attack near the Central Bus Station in Jerusalem on Sunday, according to police reports. This is an utter disgrace that the perpetrator's being given medical treatment. He doesn't deserve it. What he does deserve is condemnation by all concerned for taking out his anger over petty, non-existent issues and perpetuating anti-semitism in the name of the Religion of Peace.
Magen David Adom Emergency Medical services said that at 2:15 pm paramedics tended to a 35-year-old male security guard with a stab wound to his upper body on Jaffa Street in Jerusalem.
Police told The Jerusalem Post that the attacker approached the security station at the entrance to the Central Bus Station, stabbed a security guard and began running away down Jaffa Street.
He was apprehended by a citizen, reportedly a cab driver. The attacker was then arrested by police.
The police spokesperson confirmed that the attacker was a 24-year-old Palestinian man. According to The Jerusalem Post's sister publication Maariv, the attacker was from the West Bank city of Nablus and held an Israeli work permit.
Police are at the scene and the surrounding area has been closed off. Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat has arrived at the scene as well.
The suspect was taken alive but suffered a head wound, according to United Hatzalah. He is being transferred to Shaare Zedek Hospital for medical treatment.
