Yair Lapid acts as apologist for supposed failure
On his first major trip to Wash. D.C, Lapid's really causing some beginning damage to diplomatic relations (via Breitbart):
Bipartisan support for Israel in the United States was harmed during the Benjamin Netanyahu years, Foreign Minister Yair Lapid told US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Rome on Sunday.Oh, please. Such values are tragically being destroyed in today's ultra-PC environment, no thanks to ultra-leftist policies now taking their toll everywhere. It's doubtful Lapid has any respect for the hard work responsible Republicans did over the years for Israel, and who knows if he'll even try to defend said work? The PC lunacy crowd's doing only so much today to destroy what they believe shouldn't be allowed. Now, Lapid's part of a government that's hijacked the Israeli leadership all for the sake of ramming through bad beliefs, and his trip to the US is a strong hint of that.
“In the past few years, mistakes were made,” Lapid said in a statement before their meeting. “Israel’s bipartisan standing was hurt. We will fix those mistakes together.”
Speaking at the opening of their first meeting since he became foreign minister, Lapid said he had spoken with Democratic and Republican leaders over the past few days.
“I reminded them all that Israel shares America’s most basic values — freedom, democracy, free markets, the constant search for peace.”
