5 sexual assault accusations have been made against LGBT activist Gal Uchovsky
A first formal complaint was filed with police Sunday against screenwriter and producer Gal Uchovsky, one of the most prominent LGBT rights activists in Israel, who has recently been accused by multiple men of sexual assault.Has he parchance thought of apologizing to rabbi Rafi Peretz for writing such a hypocritical assault on him 2 years back? Doesn't look like Uchovsky's doing that so far. He'd do well to consider offering a mea culpa, and above all, cooperating with the police on the impending investigation.
Police last week opened an investigation into Uchovsky after the Kan public broadcaster published testimonies of two men who said that Uchovsky sexually assaulted them in recent years. Since then, a third person has also told the station he was assaulted by Uchovsky.
Media reports did not identify the complainant or the exact nature of the accusations against the celebrity, which were filed with Tel Aviv police.
According to Kan, so far five people have notified police of incidents regarding Uchovsky, including some in the past six months, but only one formal complaint has been filed.
After the Kan exposé, which included allegations from two men, was broadcast Monday, Uchovsky, a popular TV personality, apologized and said he would be stepping down as president of IGY – Israel Gay Youth, a leading nonprofit organization serving LGBTQ youth in Israel.
Speaking of Peretz, he recently posted the following screencap:
What's stated in the Maariv article this comes from tells that the MSM couldn't find any homosexual clients who'd been referred to Peretz who'd suffered damage, nor did they find any parents who could confirm what they were hoping for. So it's clear that at the time, it was all a very regrettable case of media demonization, something the right wing should've defended Peretz from, and now that I think of it, most conservatives owe Peretz an apology too, for failing to stand firm in defense of both him and his practice, which I'm sure simply involved psychology, not electric shocks, as was said to be the case in America during the 1950s.תודה רבה @KalmanLiebskind היקר על דברים ישרים ובהירים. pic.twitter.com/4yT1YQWi6M

Peretz, as mentioned before, should wear all this as a badge of honor, and make cases in the future about how a lawbreaking fanatic tried to shut him up over petty issues. Maybe Uchovsky should also consider turning to Peretz himself and reconciling, and above all, Uchovksy could assure everyone he's not against leading relations with the opposite sex. Something tells me that, if a Haredi rabbi had said what Peretz did, the reactions would've been different, if at all, coming from the left, and they certainly were quiet when Mansour Abbas took his positions against LGBT practice.
