Another 2 Israelis shot near Huwara
A terrorist shooting attack was reported near the Arab town of Huwara in Samaria Sunday afternoon, at the site of another terrorist shooting attack last month. The husband, who was lucky to have shot the attacker, had USA citizenship:
Two people were wounded in the attack, one of whom is said to be in serious condition with a head wound, while the other was treated for shock.
According to initial reports, the victims are a husband and wife, both in their 30s. The couple's children were not wounded in the attack.
Witnesses say the terrorist walked up to the victims' vehicle and opened fire at point-blank range with a Carlo-style submachine gun before fleeing the scene, dropping his gun on the way.
According to MK Tzvi Sukkot (Religious Zionist Party), the victim, an [acquaintance] of the MK, managed to return fire despite being shot in the head, wounding the terrorist.
Emergency first responders from Hatzalah Without Borders, Magen David Adom (MDA), and an IDF medical team were dispatched to the scene, treating the victims before evacuating them to the hospital via ambulance.
The victims, both dual American-Israeli citizens, are 44-year-old David Stern and his wife, 37-year-old Rachel Stern, residents of the Givat Ronen neighborhood in the town of Itamar, north of Huwara, the site of the attack. The town will have to be put under a form of curfew and the army will have to search for illegal weapons hidden there. Huwara's Islamofascists definitely gave it a bad name.
David Stern, a Krav Maga self-defense instructor and trainer for first-responder security teams, was shot in the head Sunday afternoon when an Arab terrorist approached his car and opened fire at point-blank range with a Carlo-style submachine gun.
The bullet apparently grazed Stern’s skull, and was deflected into his arm.
After being evacuated to the Beilinson Medical Center in Petach Tikva in serious condition, hospital officials said Stern is now listed in moderate-to-serious condition, adding that he is not in life-threatening danger.
Rachel Stern was treated for shock after the shooting, while the couple's children who were present in the car at the time of the attack were not injured.
