It's a horrible day in the USA as Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk was shot in the neck at the Utah Valley university in Orem:

Charlie Kirk was shot Wednesday during a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, and the suspect is in custody, according to school officials.Prayers here too. It's clear anti-Americanism has spun out of control, and this is the horrifying result. Kirk deserves much better, and now, he's been endangered by whoever the filth is who shot him. We must hope Kirk recovers, and that the culprit will be locked away in solitary confinement.
Video from the campus courtyard shows Kirk clutching his neck as the crowd scatters; he was rushed from the scene by security. A source in contact with Kirk’s colleagues told the Daily Caller he is still alive in the hospital, though he lost a significant amount of blood. Another Turning Point USA official confirmed he is alive to CBS News, but said “it doesn’t look good.” Kirk is in critical condition, according to the Associated Press.

American conservative activist and political commentator Charlie Kirk was shot dead by a gunman on Wednesday while he was addressing a crowd at Utah Valley University.It's utterly abominable. And so far, it looks like they haven't caught the culprit yet, so we have to hope the authorities can and will. Condolences to Kirk's family.
Kirk was taken to hospital in critical condition. US President Donald Trump later announced in a post on Truth Social that Kirk had died.
"The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!" he wrote.
FBI Director Kash Patel later announced that the suspect in the murder was in custody, but he subsequently announced that the suspect was released.
"The subject in custody has been released after an interrogation by law enforcement. Our investigation continues and we will continue to release information in interest of transparency," he wrote on X.
Utah Gov. Spencer Cox commented on the murder and said, "I want to be very clear that this is a political assassination."
