NY governor Kathy Hochul turns out to be quite pro-Mamdani after all
0 Comments Published by Avi Green on Monday, December 22, 2025 at 1:40 PM.If Mamdani gets his way, the city will become even more expensive, crime-ridden, inefficient, squalid, dirty, and dangerous as it is now. And New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-Planned Parenthood), despite previously being decidedly lukewarm about Mamdani’s socialist schemes, has just given the earnest young leftist mayor-to-be a massive boost, stopping an attempt to limit his powers. If she's going to come to Mamdani's defense on issues like these, she is not against his repellent platforms at all. But it really shouldn't be a surprise. And this isn't the only terrible thing Hochul's doing. This week, her government approved a bill to legalize euthanasia in New York, in another sad sign of how Kevorkianism is being normalized:
Proponents of the measure were not trying to place illegitimate restraints upon Mamdani just because they disagreed with him. They were actually trying to remove an odd element of the city statutes that allows the mayor to run roughshod over the will of the City Council and to, in short, behave like a dictator. This is a power that the mayor never should have had in the first place, and now it’s going to be in the hands of a mayor who has made it abundantly clear that he would like nothing better than to transform the nation’s largest city into a third-world hellhole. Or into even more of a third-world hellhole than it already is.
The New York Post reported Monday that Hochul had given a “gift” to Mamdani by vetoing legislation that “would have undone a quirk in which council-approved amendments to the city charter can effectively be ‘bumped’ by the mayor.” Hochul did Mamdani this favor despite endorsing him only a week before the mayoral election, and after publicly opposing his bleed-the-rich plans last June, saying: “I’m not raising taxes at a time where affordability is the big issue. I don’t want to lose any more people to Palm Beach. We’ve lost enough.”
Countries like Canada, Switzerland, and Germany have already slid into a dystopian nightmare, offering state-sponsored death to the disabled, the poor, and even veterans struggling with PTSD. And now, New York is rushing to follow. Governor Kathy Hochul (D) announced it: assisted suicide is coming to the Empire State. There were some estimations that NY would be one of the first areas in the USA to see a population collapse, and is bound to precipitate the problem, with the worst part being, how many decent people are going to throw their lives away as a result of this? Once again, another reason I don't want to visit NY even for a brief period of time. They have become one of the worst leftist bastions around. And for all we know, Mamdani will likely be reelected in another few years, no matter how he handles the role of mayor in NYC.
The governor declared she had struck a deal with the Legislature to enact the deceptively named “Medical Aid in Dying Act.” Starting in the summer of 2026, terminally ill New Yorkers with a prognosis of six months or less will be able to obtain lethal drugs to end their own lives. Hochul calls New York a “beacon of freedom” and frames this as the ultimate extension of so-called bodily autonomy — conveniently twisted positively as the “right to die” on one’s own terms.
