Far-left riots in France lead to destruction of ancient Limoges city hall, and Italy's Milan also sees similar incidents

Jean-Luc Melenchon's repulsive communist party's machinations have resulted in the destruction of the Limoges city hall:
Local prosecutors said that at least 15 people have been arrested in connection with the riots that broke out in Limoges and the arson which destroyed the city’s historic City Hall.

The supposed demonstration against the cost of living and education spending on Saturday evening saw the destruction of Limoges City Hall, an 1883 Neo-Renaissance building designed to pay homage to Paris’s Hôtel de Ville.

Designated as a historic monument in 1975, the 143-year-old building was largely destroyed in a fire allegedly set by rioters who entered the building. Dramatic images shared on social media show the building’s tower collapsing amid the conflagration.

According to Limoges prosecutor Emilie Abrantes, police have made “more than 15 arrests” in connection with the fire and the riots, which also saw six police cars burned and multiple businesses in the city centre looted.

The Limoges-based Le Populaire du Centre newspaper reported that, according to a City Hall source, “the rioters entered through a cellar door beneath the council chamber. They reportedly threatened to kill those inside.
When the rioters threaten murder, that speaks volumes. It makes no difference what their ethnic/religious/ideological background is, they cannot remain in the country, period, and exiling violence monsters is going to have to become a serious issue to be brought forth.

And now, of all times, Macron's government actually has what it takes to blame the far-left for this terrible incident:
The French government has accused the far-left of stoking the riots that engulfed the nation on Saturday, resulting in widespread clashes with police, looting of shops, as well as vandalism and arson of government buildings.

What began last month as a small protest over teacher shortages at a school in the Créteil suburb of Paris has become a full-on national revolt, with various leftist unions and other organisations also taking to the streets in cities across the country on Saturday, with an estimated 550,000 demonstrators.

At a press conference in Paris, Minister of the Interior Laurent Nuñez said that unlike other protests, where rioters wait until the end of the event to turn violent, the violence on Saturday “started right from the beginning”, Le Figaro reported.

Nuñez specifically blamed the “radical left” for stoking the riots, saying that “groups of several hundred or thousands of rioters, clearly instigated by the far left, attacked the police,” leaving at least 60 officers injured. He said that around 400 people, mostly adults, have been arrested. However, the minister noted that “the day isn’t over yet.”

Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu also pointed to “ultra-left groups” being behind the demonstrations and having “organised violence in several French cities”.

“Peaceful demonstrations have their rightful place in our Republic. Arson, looting, and attacks have no place whatsoever,” he said. “To those who clearly want to use these acts of violence as a ‘warm-up’ before the presidential election, I say this plainly: we will not be intimidated. No one will impose their political agenda through violence.”
Well this sure is audacious of them, after Macron went and made a faustian pact with them just to keep the RN from getting a real majority in parliament a few years ago. Did he actually think this was going to literally change their ideological beliefs and make them take up civilized lifestyles? Sorry, but this is coming awfully late, and now the country's paying a heavy price for Macron's irresponsibilities.

Making matters worse, the riots have now spread even to Italy:
The European anarchy has set the stage for a particularly disturbing scene in Milan, Italy, as one of Christianity's most recognizable landmarks became the backdrop for violent unrest.

Flames rose from makeshift barricades, fireworks exploded, and thick smoke filled the square outside Milan Cathedral
, the magnificent Gothic church that has stood at the heart of the city for centuries. [...]

The violence erupted during a left-wing demonstration that drew more than 5,000 people to Milan. What began as a protest over high prices, low wages, and deteriorating public services descended into clashes between police and groups of masked rioters, some of them clearly North African immigrants.

According to Italian news reports, rioters hurled stones, firecrackers, and makeshift explosives at officers while setting fire to rubbish, street furniture, and barricades. Police responded with tear gas, water cannons, and charges.

Windows were smashed, shops closed their shutters, and tourists fled the city center as police fought to regain control of the square. ANSA reported that police officers were injured and approximately 20 people received medical attention in the area.

The cathedral itself was not reported damaged. But the spectacle unfolding beneath its spires was extraordinary. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni condemned the violence.

"Demonstrating is a right. Setting our cities on fire is not," Meloni said in a statement reported by ANSA.

The location makes the images particularly jarring. Milan Cathedral, known as the Duomo di Milano, is one of Europe's great Christian monuments. Construction began in 1386, and its elaborate marble facade and towering spires have become inseparable from the city's identity.
So now it's clear Europe is being plunged into a war that was bound to happen sooner or later, and who knows if anybody in the USA's willing to help them now, after all the horrific university and school indoctrination that went unchecked and uncurbed for many years? I don't believe even the shoddy Federalist editor John Daniel Davidson's willing to go to war if that's what it takes to put an end to what the Religion of Peace is resulting in (and Sean Davis is no better). I mean, where were people like these when Betty Mahmoody was trying to save her daughter from being turned into a hostage of Islam in Iran 4 decades ago? Some people may not realize it, but some of the worst enablers of Islamofascism came from within the conservative movement and put the keys in the ignition for the left to spread further. Those "conservatives" who aren't willing to fight for freedom have no business even commenting on the issues, period.

Update: sadly but predictably, a synagogue was also the subject of looting.

It would be good news if this is so

According to this news, 46 percent of Muslims would consider leaving France if Marine Le Pen's elected president, and they're not the only ones:
Nearly half of all Muslims in France say they would think about going into exile if sovereigntist candidate Marine Le Pen is elected President next year, with a massive one in five followers of Islam saying they would definitely leave the country.

French news magazine Marianne has published the findings of large sample polling conducted for them by Ifop that suggests a large proportion of the country would simply refuse to keep living peacefully in France if their preferred candidates don’t prevail in the April 2027 Presidential Elections. Some 46 per cent of Muslims in the 9,600 respondent poll — a large sample for European polls — said they would consider “leaving France to settle in another country”. [...]

Muslims living in France are not the only group who told the pollster they’d consider going abroad. Almost as welling to sit out a Le Pen Presidency were supporters of hard-left leader Jean-Luc Melenchon, who seems a credible candidate to make it to the Presidential run-offs against Le Pen, and whose party has been accused of stoking recent riots in France for their own political ends. According to Marianne, 43 per cent of Melenchon voters say they’d consider leaving France.

With his polling hovering around 17 per cent nationally, the results imply five and a half million leftists in France who would consider reacting to losing an election by moving abroad.
Wonder if the Melenchon commies would be interested in living in Muslim countries? Who knows, maybe they would, though some would surely move to Russia, for all we know, which has plenty of Muslims there already as it is.

This is certainly intriguing news, and for now, it remains to be seen how things will turn out.

Update: for now, what's terrible is the continuing riots, stoked by the "red-green alliance".

J.D. Vance's sloppy take on socialism

The USA vice president recently commented on what he thought socialism was intended to be, and did not give a good response:
“Socialism, classically, was about prioritizing workers. ... Now I think that, in reality, what it truly means in the American context is wanting to replace American workers with foreign workers, and wanting boys to participate in girls’ sports.”

That was the response given by U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance during a press gaggle Thursday when asked for his definition of socialism. His remarks have since drawn commentary from the vast community of exiles from socialist regimes who have found refuge in the United States.

The Vice President’s statement was “the worst answer I’ve heard from a conservative in decades,” according to Venezuelan activist Emanuel Rincón. “The truth is that socialists have never cared about workers; they have cared about dominating the means of production or the profits derived from them, about holding total power and harassing citizens, and about extinguishing freedoms — not about doing what J.D. Vance suggests here.”
And this is why there are folks out there who believe Vance will not make a good candidate for POTUS in the next few years. He really blew it, and emerges little better than he did when discussing Israel, in example. And he didn't help matters when he said the other year that if Iranians want to topple the autocracy, "it's up to them". That was very ill-advised too.
While I agree with Rincón, there is some truth to what the vice president said: modern socialism is intrinsically linked to “wokeism” and its ridiculous ideas.

It’s unrealistic to expect a politician to look good or be perfectly on point every time they appear on camera. We are all human beings. Nevertheless, I believe it is important to clarify the concept of socialism — an ideology that has led to the worst horrors known in modern history on every continent where it has been implemented.

Socialism originated as an idea to transform economic and political systems, as well as class relations. Karl Marx, the quintessential intellectual of that ideology, illustrated this in his Critique of the Gotha Program, describing it as a “cooperative society based on common ownership of the means of production.”

Socialists described socialism as the first rung — the phase immediately preceding — in the establishment of a communist society in which the State would cease to exist. Yet, to “socialize” the means of production (in plain terms: stripping ownership from those who held it), it was imperative to employ the coercive force of that very State they claimed would eventually be abolished.

Do you follow the idea? I know it sounds crazy, but believe me: someone like me — who lived under a totalitarian system where these concepts were treated as gospel — can attest that they are not merely foolish, but malevolent. My country, Cuba, went from having an economy that rivaled those of Europe to competing with Haiti for the lowest rank in the hemisphere. My city, Havana — which once boasted more movie theaters than Paris or New York — has now become, as I have said before, a “Pompeii of Salt.”
And Vance isn't well informed on that? Sigh. And let's also consider that Islam follows similar paths in its ideology, and many places that fell to Islam like Iran, have been turned into horror stories even worse. Vance needs to brush up on his knowledge, but for now, he's provided more reasons not to support him as a full presidential candidate if he runs for nomination in 2 years.

Order must be restored in France, and the jihadists cannot be allowed to riot during election

A vital case is made for why order needs to be restored in France, and an important warning made about how the jihadists in France could be plotting to commit mass violence if Marine Le Pen's elected:
France’s latest round of rioting, nominally a protest about underfunded schools, is proving to be unusually violent as well as perversely destructive. Burning down or attacking schools is an unorthodox way of improving them. And there are legitimate fears that the disorder, which is being encouraged, at least to some degree, by leftist agitators who have long since left the classroom, may spread further still. There is speculation that this may even be a dress rehearsal for massive disturbances should Marine Le Pen’s populist-right RN win next year’s presidential elections.
Which beggars the query: does Emmanuel Macron intend to allow this to occur when the election takes place? And if the rioters burning down schools, that proves the claim they want better resources is entirely false.
Meanwhile, mass immigration continued, and, as has been made evident yet again by the current rioting, assimilation has proved incomplete, a failure that now stretches across several generations. As a result, the RN (previously the National Front) has long since emerged from the fringe. These riots will do the RN no harm. On the far left, a relative newcomer, the far-left LFI under Jean-Luc Mélenchon, celebrates the “creolization” of France and is appealing to younger voters, immigrants, and their descendants, as well as to Islamists as co-belligerents, a strategy that the left is using elsewhere in Europe. The role played by some in the LFI, tacit or otherwise, in encouraging violence presumably rests on their understanding that for the right audience, violence makes an excellent recruiting sergeant. Moreover, were it to lead to a response by the authorities that could be characterized as an overreaction or that generates a martyr or two, so much the better. [...]

For now, however, the government needs to restore order — and soon — if the rioting is not to spread further. Thereafter, it will doubtless be focused on the budget and trying to avoid next year’s runoff being between Mélenchon and Le Pen, two tricky problems. As to the first, giving the can another kick down the road looks like a good bet. So far as the second is concerned, a recent speech by one presidential hopeful, former Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, in which he called for yet more EU integration merely adds to already overwhelming evidence that France and indeed Europe’s radicalized “centrists” remain incapable of addressing the scale of the disaster they have done so much to create.
There's plenty of valid points to be found here. The Trump administration should also speak out about this more too, and confront Macron on what he intends to do in his last days as president to curb the current violence and disorder, which, last time I looked, has also spread to Belgium and even Italy. And any Americans who aren't willing to help out innocent Europeans won't be helping matters.

Defeatism in the 1990s

In this article, Dror Eydar talks about the Islamofascist horror engulfing Europe, and brings up something he was told about that occurred in Belgium during the 1990s:
A prominent professor once told me about a conversation he had with a Belgian colleague back in the 1990s. "Look at all the mosques springing up on every corner," he told him. "What will you do when the Muslims actually start taking over Belgium? How will you fight them?"

The Belgian, a devout Catholic, answered candidly: "We won't fight. We'll convert to Islam. They ruled Western Europe once before, so they'll rule it again." While the enemies of the West are prepared to sacrifice their lives to destroy Judeo-Christian civilization, European society is unwilling to pay a price to defend its freedom.
This reminds me of what was said about what the Christian leadership response could be to a movie based on Betty Mahmoody's horrifying experiences in Iran today. Do these people really lack that much confidence they're willing to literally sell out? Additionally terrifying is what the USA public's positions could be on this, recalling how, in a way, the surveys they led to crippled the military's ability to fight the war against Iran on the ground as much as in the air. If the Bush administration, pretentious as it was, was willing to fight Iraq on the ground, and they had no problem with that, why do they suddenly have a problem now, if it could be done the same way and just as effectively? Of course, let's not forget the horrible example Ronald Reagan set when he withdrew the army from Lebanon in 1983, and it's become largely Islamic since.
The incident aboard the flight from Dubai illustrates this principle. Thanks to the sacrifice and quick thinking of Yaniv Hayun, along with the courage of the Indian pilot and other Israeli passengers, many lives were saved and a catastrophe was averted, one that could have emboldened Islamist terrorism.
And if the pilot adheres to Hinduism, it indicates even they have a much more realist view of the need to be vigilant. So perhaps that's why Europeans who need a faith that can give them a reason to live should consider either Judaism or Hinduism? And if it's the former, it needs to be offered without demanding or even expecting the possible convert to follow what the ultra-Orthodox do. That would be a most utterly unsuitable way to handle things.

Jean Luc Melechon's monstrous party incited riots in France

The repugnant political party of far-left Jean Luc Melenchon, France Insoumise, incited riots in France that led to considerable damage, and there were even Muslims involved:
Paris and numerous other French regional cities were engulfed in the chaos of mass-scale violent riots and protests incited by the far-left on Thursday, with hundreds of reported acts of vandalism, arson, blockades of school facilities, and assaults against law enforcement agents and civilians.

French government officials and politicians have accused the far-left La France Insoumise of inciting the dramatic wave of urban violence that left at least 1,949 arrested and at least 305 police officers and gendarme agents injured.

According to French outlets, the majority 90 percent detainees are minors involved in the chaotic acts.

Several student protests have rocked the European nation in recent days after they initially erupted at a high school in Créteil on September 18, with participants allegedly demanding better conditions and resources for their schools and a solution to overcrowded classrooms and a lack of teachers as the manifestations expanded across the French territory.

The protests, however, rapidly strayed away from their alleged peaceful nature and became increasingly violent this week, with over 440 individuals — mostly minors — being detained nationally on Tuesday. [...]

Per Reuters, the French government was informed by the nation’s intelligence agencies during an emergency crisis meeting that La France Insoumise was behind Thursday’s wave of violence. The party has since then reportedly denied the allegations.
No shock at all they refuse to take responsibility. And this is a party that Emmanuel Macron ended up helping to undermine Marine Le Pen's chances of better success in the parliamentary elections? He has nobody but himself to blame along with Melanchon and company themselves.
Le Pen also shared footage of one of the most harrowing moments of Thursday’s protests. In the video shared by the politician, a young policewoman being chased by a mob of violent protesters in Paris before the violent protesters throw her down to the ground and assault her. Le Pen emphasized that such violent acts demand “exemplary punishment,” speaking for millions of French people to offer support to the attacked law enforcement official.

According to French outlets, a man is heard yelling “By Allah, you filthy wh*re! By Allah, kill her.”

Le Pen’s deputy, Jordan Bardella emphasized that the images of the assaulted police woman illustrate what France has become “after decades of lax enforcement and mass immigration.” “How much longer are we going to tolerate this barbarism? How much longer are we going to let our country sink into ruin without doing anything about it?” He asked.
What occurred at the incident involving the attack on the policewoman says all you need to know about whom Melechon's courting, in addition to the clues involving Moslems at the scene. If he's elected after this, it'll be a disaster and a horror. And no doubt, this riot must've been Melechon's revenge for the Pope's visit to Paris, where he did impress upon many people.

Native French could become minority in own country by 2050 if mass Muslim migration continues

According to the following research:
The French people face the prospect of becoming a minority in their own homeland by as early as the middle of the century, should the political establishment in Paris continue to embark upon its mass migration agenda, a leading think tank has warned.

The report from the Paris-based Immigration and Demography Observatory (OID), initially published in Le Figaro, attempted to forecast the future demographics of the French nation in the coming decades under different immigration policies. The OID acknowledged that this task is a “complex exercise” and has significant “difficulties”, including the imperfect data on migration flows and fertility collected by the French government, not to mention the unpredictability of the future. [...]

The think tank noted that even though this outcome was classified as its most extreme, given their self-imposed three-generation limit, the increasing level of migratory flows, the declining birth rate among women born in France, and the rising birth rate of women from sub-Saharan Africa, they believe this was a “very conservative” prediction and “likely underestimates the projected proportion of immigrants and their descendants within the population.”
Well this is exactly why the native population has to start working on raising more children of their own again, and the same can be said of Italy. No country that cares about safety and sanity can afford to just refuse to work on childbirthing anymore, and it's something that has to be worked on now.

This is why I hope that Pope Leo, who visited Paris for a mass Christian gathering, is now willing to change his MO and advocate for something more positive, after the embarrassments he was performing earlier in PR:
Hundreds of thousands of Catholics poured into Paris on Saturday as Pope Leo XIV held Mass in the city centre, spreading a message of religious revival amid modern secularism stemming from the French Revolution and calling on the faithful to “bring hope wherever discouragement and spiritual dryness prevail.” The first papal visit to France occurred in 754, when Pope Stephen II crossed the Alps to visit the Frankish kingdom and anointed King Pepin, son of Charles Martel, hero of the Battle of Tours and father of Charlemagne, the first Holy Roman Emperor. At the time, Pope Stephen remarked that the Franks were more “glorious than other nations” in their service of the Church.

Now, nearly 13 centuries later, after decades of decline and rising numbers of non-believers, the Church in France appears to be reviving, with baptisms of adults and teenagers hitting record levels this year in France, up 20 per cent over 2025.

The strength of the Catholic Church, which remains the largest religion in France, was on full display on Saturday, as an estimated 800,000 faithful flocked to the Champs-Élysées and the Place de la Concorde in central Paris for an outdoor mass led by Pope Leo XIV. [...]

Formerly known as the Place de la Révolution (Revolution Square), the site served as the central stage for many key events of the French Revolution, notably the Reign of Terror mass guillotine executions, including those of King Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette and thousands of others.

During the final days of the Terror, many of the most prominent revolutionaries were also executed at the site, including arch anti-Catholic Maximilien Robespierre, who sought to displace the power of the Church with a ruthless and modernist state, which ultimately turned against him.

The Pope touched on the sacrifice of French Catholics while visiting Parcours des Martyrs at the Catholic Institute of Paris, which stands as the site where over 100 bishops and priests were killed by radical revolutionaries in 1792, during the September Massacres, after they refused to renounce their allegiance to the Church.
The vital question, however, is if Leo is changing his earlier stance, which was defeatist. If he doesn't, he could undermine what impact his current visit's had. The question is whether he wants Europe to one day be safe again. So far, he hasn't made any statements acknowledging he opposes replacing native populations with Islamic adherents. Does that provide reason to find Leo's visit encouraging? Here's more about the tour here.

Moral assymentry is horrific

Adam Milstein writes about how the USA is failing to honor the victims of Islamic terrorism ever since 9-11:
We promised never to forget, and to defend our American freedoms and way of life in memory of those who perished that day. But sadly, over time, our promise to America has evaporated. The evidence is everywhere: in our classrooms, in our city halls, and in the fastest-growing factions of our own politics.

As America marks the 25th anniversary of 9/11, while celebrating 250 years since its founding, those anniversaries compel us to confront a question that is uncomfortable but unavoidable:

What happens when a civilization loses confidence in its own values while its enemies remain completely convinced of theirs
?

The threat of radical Islam, foreign and domestic, has not receded. It has spread.

The terrorists of 2000 wanted to murder Americans abroad, and the terrorists of 2001 wanted to destroy American lives and symbols on our homeland
. Today’s Islamist threat can still take the form of terrorism, but it also operates through propaganda, political influence, ideological networks and efforts to reshape how Americans normalize, accept, and even cherish radical Islam.

The examples are no longer isolated. In August, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) promoted a back-to-school resource guide that blamed 9/11 on “American support for Israel” and recommended Osama bin Laden’s infamous “Letter to America” to students. After deserved backlash, the material was removed.

Imagine a curriculum about Pearl Harbor that treated Japanese propaganda as required reading while suggesting that American policy was fundamentally responsible for the attack.

We would immediately recognize the moral inversion.
If they did, would it be because religions of the far east aren't built on the same kind of barbarism those of Islamic countries are? Although some could reasonably wonder if today, any moral inversion emphasizing the National Socialist ideology that grew in Germany during WW2 would be considered acceptable.
The problem is moral asymmetry.

When Islamist extremists attack the West, we are told to examine the grievances that supposedly caused them to act.

When Western countries defend themselves, we are told that their very existence is the problem.

When Islamists or their sympathizers are criticized, the discussion immediately shifts to Islamophobia.

This moral relativism is one of the most dangerous weapons available to an extremist movement.

Because if there is no objective distinction between terrorism and self-defense, between murdering civilians and fighting terrorists, between democratic government and authoritarian rule, then there is no moral basis for defending civilization at all.

They understand something that many Western elites have forgotten, ideas matter.

Osama bin Laden understood that he was fighting not simply the American military but American pride. His objective was not merely to kill Americans. It was to convince Americans that their civilization was corrupt, illegitimate and unworthy of defending.

Twenty-five years later, we are helping him make that argument.
Some could say it all began with the Bush administration, which tried at the time to take steps to "convince" the Islamic world that American culture isn't "materialistic and lewd". Bush's appeasements are something Daniel Greenfield also brings up, and that there's a chilling number of people now in the MSM and on the left who're justifying Islamic terrorism:
“Muslim friends and citizens, tax-paying citizens, and Muslims in nations were just appalled and could not believe what we saw on our TV screens. These acts of violence against innocents violate the fundamental tenets of the Islamic faith. And it’s important for my fellow Americans to understand that,” President George W. Bush had claimed in remarks at a mosque after 9/11 while accompanied by terror-linked Islamists. “The face of terror is not the true faith of Islam. That’s not what Islam is all about. Islam is peace. These terrorists don’t represent peace.”

Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice recently asked the former president to talk about his mosque visit after the attacks to “make sure that our Muslim American citizens knew that we didn’t blame them for what had happened.” Bush chimed in, “I also made it clear that Islam was a religion of peace, not a religion of war, and that these people subverted their religion.”

Muslims, however, don’t agree. It’s not just the generation of Islamic terrorist attacks that have taken place in America since then, the vast majority of which were not organized or planned out by any central terror network like Al Qaeda, but by ordinary Muslims living in the United States.

Some of them may have even paid their taxes.

While Bush was nostalgically recalling his comments after 9/11, the father of Todd Beamer, one of the heroes who led the effort to retake Flight 93 from the Islamic terrorists who had hijacked it, was recording a commercial against Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan. David Beamer had not previously gotten involved in politics, but El-Sayed had been campaigning with Hasan Piker, a Turkish Muslim influencer who said that “America deserved 9/11” and recently told an interviewer that “pound for pound”, America was worse than Al Qaeda and that was too much.

What does it say that Abdul El-Sayed and Zohran Mamdani, the two most prominent Muslim politicians right now, have both been tied to a Muslim who said, “America deserved 9/11”?

Or that the biggest expansion of Islamic political power in America came after Muslims rallied on behalf of Hamas after Oct 7 (Hasan Piker had defended Hamas as “a militant resistance comprised of orphaned soldiers born into a 77-year occupation” and dismissed its atrocities as “rape fantasies”) and in doing so hijacked the Democratic Party to elect terrorist supporters.

Their current crop of candidates includes Melat Kiros, a Colorado congressional candidate who refused to condemn a Muslim terrorist setting a Holocaust survivor on fire, Dariazila Avila Chevalier, a Muslim congressional candidate in New York City who attended a rally celebrating the Oct 7 massacres, Aisha Wahab, a Muslim congresswoman in California who called for diplomatic relations with the Taliban, and Hisham ‘Adam’ Hamawy, the former translator for the Blind Sheikh terror leader at the center of the World Trade Center bombing, and who had volunteered for an Al Qaeda front group. The mask is off and they aren’t hiding it anymore.
A vital lesson could be learned from this, that when nobody's vigilant enough, it's a "conservative" who could end up sowing the seeds of defeat, as Bush did when he basically groveled, and repeated his defeatist positions later on too. Why, the French president Valery Giscard d'Estaing, who was in office during 1974-81, was also "right-wing", and he enabled mass Muslim immigration to France that's taken a horrifying toll since. Even Ariel Sharon was supposedly "right-wing", and was another example who turned out to be a monster. That's why anybody who cares has to pay careful attention so that the right isn't infiltrated by bad actors as the left has. Today's generation of conservatives thankfully seems to have what it takes for that, but it still may not be enough. More vigilance is needed.

Over 40 percent of Americans now support socialism

There was a time several years ago when most Americans did not want to vote for a socialist. Tragically, through propaganda and indoctrination, that's now changing, as a new poll reveals a sizable number of American residents view socialism as acceptable:
More than four in ten Americans have a positive view of socialism – 43 percent – only 12 points lower than the 55 percent who view capitalism positively, a recent Gallup survey revealed.

The survey asked respondents if they have a negative or positive image of small business, free enterprise, capitalism, socialism, and big business.

Small business had the highest rating at 95 percent positive, followed by free enterprise with 77 percent positive, and capitalism with a 55 percent positive rating.

However, 43 percent now have a positive view of socialism. This is “the first time this figure has exceeded 39% in Gallup’s trend since 2010,” Gallup reported.

Democrats’ view of socialism has grown more positive over the past several years. More than half, 57 percent, had a positive view of socialism in 2018. Now, that figure among Democrats stands at 65 percent. Coinciding with that is the fact that Democrats view capitalism less favorably, dropping from 42 percent in 2025 to 35 percent in 2026.

Similarly, independents are cozying up to the ideology
. In the last year alone, independents went from a 37 percent positive view of socialism to 45 percent.
Now we can understand how NYC's first Muslim mayor, Zohran Mamdani, got elected too. This is definitely bad news, and unless education programs can be installed successfully to teach why socialism/communism is bad, we'll soon see much more frightening numbers coming up.

The challenges of making the Daily Wire's latest film project

In this Daily Wire interview, they discuss the making of Run, Hide, Fight: Infidels, which is their project for focusing on the issue of Islamic terrorism:
Ben Domenech: Dallas, before we start talking about this movie, which was something that was important for you to do, talk about the decision to go in this direction — one that was a little fraught, just given the topic area and the fact that you were going to take a new and different genre approach to this, I would say, than perhaps you had before while staying in the same family. Walk me through a little bit about the decision processes that led up to deciding to make this movie.

Dallas Sonnier: You don’t hire me to produce a movie if you’re trying to make something for Hallmark, let’s say, and you don’t hire someone normal or reasonable when you’re going to make these kinds of movies. And so I am, in certain ways, built for this moment, just because of the movies that I’ve made and the career I’ve built, and learning how to make high-budget movies for low-budget money. And we always get nice big stars in these movies and the explosions look big. The part of my career I’m most proud of is building this type of movie-making. And so that’s how it gets made. Now the genesis of it was a conversation between me and Mike Richards, the new Daily Wire CEO, Ben Shapiro, and the writer-director of the original “Run Hide Fight” movie, Kyle Rankin.

The four of us got on the call, and we said, “Hey, we should really consider making another ‘Run Hide Fight’ movie. It does so well on the platform, and it’s so successful for us, and we want to go bigger and better.” And so that’s how it came about. And then we battered around some ideas, and Mike Richards was really inspired by the student protests at Columbia University, but most importantly, the counter-protest normal students, so to speak, who fought back and wanted to go to school and go to class and not be interrupted by this pro-Palestine nonsense. So that’s the genesis of the movie and how it came to be and how we go about it. [...]

BD: Just to circle back to the Islam question, there is real concern when you engage in a project like this that the threats that come through are more meaningful and more real than perhaps the long-distance threats of nation-states and the like. Now that may not always be true. There are plenty of documentarians and journalists and people like that who Russia has reached out and targeted over the years in places that are not Russia, despite their insistence on trying to have the same frequency of falling out windows in London. They have not achieved that same level, but it does seem to me that there is always an additional risk that comes when you’re seizing on this topic area. How much of a concern was that for the participants in this production? Did you have to work through their own concerns about this, just given that there’s a reason that there’s not a Charlie Hebdo that involves evangelical Christians?

DS: Sure. We cast the terrorists in the movie mostly from the stunt community. And so I joke around a lot as a proud conservative and as almost a right-wing filmmaker at this point. I joke around that we can’t name our favorite conservative chef because they don’t exist. Conversely, you can’t name your favorite liberal stuntman because they don’t exist. And so when you’re leaning into a really tricky role that has a lot of action and violence and things like that, the trick is to cast a stunt person and then help them get the performance. And so we were unbelievably blessed with that group of guys.
I definitely hope they make sure to employ good security for their project contributors as well. If anything, I'm glad they're now tackling a challenging issue like this, and hope they don't allow intimidation to get in the way. Otherwise, serious subjects will not be focused upon or dealt with. I wish the Daily Wire staff good luck with producing this item.

Hasan Piker just made clear he's still as anti-American as ever

The Islamic "influencer" who became a prominent backer of the Democrats just made another statement proving he hasn't changed one bit from his previous anti-American abominations:
Democrat campaign surrogate Hasan Piker claimed, just in time for Constitution Day, that the United States of America, which has brought more freedom and opportunity to the world than any other nation or government in history, is worse than the mass murdering Islamic terrorist group that committed the 9/11 attacks.

The 25th anniversary of 9/11 should inspire the Trump administration to deport Islamic invaders who openly advocate jihad and hate America like Hasan Piker and Abdul El-Sayed. Piker is not only cheapening the tragedy of the 2001 attacks on Americans but also the decades of other heinous atrocities that Osama Bin Laden’s al-Qaeda has committed and continues to commit. Did we learn nothing from 9/11? Time for deportations of everyone who openly identifies himself as a foreign jihad affiliate. Otherwise, another 9/11 could occur, just as Israel had an October 7.

(By the way, I know that Piker was born in America. He grew up in terror-sponsoring Turkey; his parents are Turkish, and it is obvious he has absolutely no loyalty to America. Frankly, he is an amazing illustration of just what is wrong with our birthright citizenship system.)

Piker went on The Axios Show and engaged in some typical Islamic moral warping, claiming that every war in U.S. history is equivalent to jihad or even worse. Asked if America were worse than al-Qaeda, Piker asserted, “Pound for pound as far as the number of deaths, yes. We have caused tremendous terror all around the world.”

Notice how the pig smeared America as evil even while pretending he is somehow loyal to the U.S. enough to refer to Americans as “we.” He wants Americans to believe that our government is nothing but a terrorist entity, and that actual terrorist groups are noble freedom fighters. It’s an exact inversion of the truth. But then again Islam itself is an inversion. The Quran is a demonic inversion of the Bible, sharia is an inversion of natural and divine law, and Allah is an irrational and vicious inversion of the true God.
This definitely is repulsive, and if the Democrats don't distance themselves from Piker, or call for him to be exiled from the USA, that'll speak volumes. Piker hasn't changed an iota, and the topic has to be addressed in Congress.

Utterly offensive: Mamdani and Ocasio-Cortez appeared to be laughing at 911 Memorial

Not only did NYC's Muslim mayor Zohran Mamdani and even Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez show up at the 911 Memorial in complete contempt of the victims, camera footage showed they appeared to be laughing at what's meant to be a solemn moment:
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) were seen having a jolly time together at the September 11 memorial service at Ground Zero while victims’ names were being read.

A live television feed showing the service captured the moments between the socialist mayor and congresswoman as the camera panned across people weeping as their loved ones were being remembered:
What's also offensive is that no authorities in charge of the Memorial service prevented him and her from attending. Do the organizers realize the shame they've brought upon the gathering in doing so? The 911 Families should demand serious apologies from all in charge of the Memorial service for the horrific disfavor they did, allowing practically 2 awful people to infiltrate and desecrate. This is absolutely horrible and repulsive.

Update: since we're on the subject, see also Richard Landes' take on the history of Islamic jihadism.

Zohran Mamdani remains in full contempt of 911 Families and NYC's Jewish community

Giovanni Galante's petition demanding NYC's Muslim mayor stay away from the 911 Memorial was delivered to city hall:
Families of 9/11 victims hand-delivered a petition with over 100,000 signatures to City Hall on Tuesday to demand that New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani stay away from the upcoming 25th-anniversary commemoration at the World Trade Center site. The families held a press conference on the steps of City Hall.

The petition was launched on change.org on July 9 by 9/11 widower Giovanni Galante, whose wife Grace was murdered in the attacks. He began the petition out of concern over the mayor’s public positions, rhetoric, and associations.

Galante addressed the gathering on Tuesday, saying: “The main purpose is just that we don’t believe in what he believes in, and we really want to be left alone.”

He added, “This 25th anniversary is for our victims and us survivors to blend in and pray [on] that day for all the families, not have a circus around us.”

Monica Iken, whose husband Michael was murdered in the towers, also spoke
at the podium, noting, “If the families really feel that we don’t want someone at our world-class memorial museum that’s sacred and hallowed, we feel that that person should respect our wishes.” [...]

City Council Member Vicky Paladino took an even stronger stance: “I am not asking politely for the mayor not to come to that ceremony. I am asking, I am demanding that he not show his face at that sacred ground.”
So far, Mamdani's demonstrated nothing but contempt. If any of the authorities and organizers in charge of the Memorial service allow him to enter the vicinity, they'll be just as guilty as he is of desecrating the memory of thousands of people murdered by the Religion of Peace.

On a related note, the EndJewHatred movement is holding a rally outside the offices of Mamdani's leading backers, the Democratic Socialists of America:
Demonstrators and community activists gathered outside the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) headquarters in downtown Manhattan for a rally organized by the EndJewHatred movement and the Lawfare Project on Tuesday.

The rally, titled “Unite Against Terror,” took place at the corner of Essex Street and Straus Square near the DSA offices. The gathering was held three days before the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, focusing community opposition against the DSA and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

New York City experiences a marked rise in antisemitic incidents

The rally unfolded against the backdrop of a marked rise in anti-Jewish incidents in the city, with recent New York Police Department data showing that hate crimes targeting the Jewish community continue to drive local offense statistics.

Critics and community leaders have increasingly blamed Mamdani for fueling these tensions, pointing to his rhetoric regarding Israel.

Protesters stood with victims and families of 9/11 and directed a message to city leadership that terror has no place on local streets
, while speakers addressed the growing crowd.

Cheri Sparacio and Mike Weinstein, relatives of people killed on September 11, 2001, took the stage to voice sharp opposition to Mamdani’s planned appearance at the upcoming 25th-anniversary ceremony.

Sparacio said to the crowd, “How can this man be at my husband’s memorial? How can I stand there with him at my husband’s memorial?”

Weinstein echoed those sentiments, highlighting his deep multi-generational roots in New York and saying, “Make no mistake about it, all [those who] died and their families were impacted by the attacks by al-Qaeda, violent Sunni Islamic terrorists, and jihadists.” Weinstein further criticized city leadership: “Some of the leadership of the DSA are aligned with terrorist ideology,” adding that attacks on Jews and New York had risen substantially since the mayor took office.

Ori Solow, cofounder of the political campaign and advocacy network, Stop Mamdani, addressed the crowd during the evening event, saying, “New York will never surrender to radical extremism.” Fellow co-founder Ezra Greenspan similarly said, “New York will not stand by quietly.”

Renee Collymore, head of the Black Jewish Coalition in Brooklyn, spoke at the rally, urging solidarity and action
. She said, “Do not let them scare you,” emphasizing, “We must put our support together, the Jews and the Black folks; we got to work together. This is the only way we’re going to stop the DSA.” [...]

Rally participants held American flags and placards that featured messages such as “USA Not DSA,” “Unite Against Extremism,” “Remove Mamdani,” and “Stop Zohran Mamdani.”

Throughout the demonstration, the crowd joined in loud chants, repeatedly shouting slogans like “Stay away, Mamdani!” Activist and singer Ghazal Mizrahi sang the American national anthem.

Jayne Zirkle, director of communications for EndJewHatred said in a statement to The Jerusalem Post, “Last night, EndJewHatred presented a rally to remember the lives lost on 9/11, but remembering alone is not enough. We must also confront the ideas and movements that contribute to extremism.
Again, any figures in charge of the Memorial service who allow Mamdani to enter the vicinity should be ashamed of themselves, and do not belong there any more than Mamdani himself.

Modern America now has a problem with worshiping monsters

Daniel Darling wrote about a chilling situation occurring today where murderers are worshiped:
The trial of Lindsay Clancy, who has admitted killing her three young children but argues that severe mental illness left her not criminally responsible, has gripped the nation. Unlike the O.J. Simpson trial a generation ago, today’s trial watchers have the internet to seek out information and express their opinions. What is perplexing to many is the growing number of women who express support, not for the three precious souls whose lives Clancy ended, but for Clancy herself. Columnist Caitlin Flanagan writes, “What began as admirable compassion for a woman has turned into something strange: an almost exultant, fan-like celebration of Lindsay Clancy.”

Something strange indeed. Yet the Clancy fan club — complete with online support groups and crowds who show up outside the courthouse dressed in pink to cheer her on — is not the only recent cohort of crazy. Luigi Mangione, the 28-year-old man who admitted in federal court that he shot and killed UnitedHealthcare executive Brian Thompson, has a growing legion of supporters. There is even a website where fans can learn how to send Luigi letters and read his statements. This, for a self-confessed killer who left a wife without a husband and two young boys without a father. And, of course, conspiracy theorists, egged on by Candace Owens’s rapid-fire theories, have tried to make alleged Charlie Kirk killer Tyler Robinson a cult hero.
It's repulsive, and the worst part is that it's not new, recalling a creepy cybertroll from Maine on a message board a quarter century ago, who indicated he worshiped Yasser Arafat of the PLO. This same cybertroll also sided with the Columbine murderers from 1999, and that's all you need to know that something is most horrifyingly wrong with modern education in many places. It's also chilling what he could've thought of 9-11, since this occurred a few months after the tragedy. And who knows how easy it'll be to reeducate youth not to worship evil?

Zohran Mamdani outraged 911 Families by handing commemoration pen to terrorist supporter

NYC's Muslim mayor continues to repulse victims of jihadism by resorting to tactics that could be thought of as under-the-table, but are obscene regardless:
New York City’s mayor turned a solemn 9/11 commemoration into a firestorm by steering the signing pen toward an aide who once defended an al-Qaeda operative.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani gathered administration officials at City Hall on Friday to sign two executive orders ahead of the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, according to the New York Post. One order designates the date a citywide Day of Remembrance and Service, while the second strengthens the city’s emergency preparedness and continuity plans, VINnews reported.

Mamdani gave the ceremonial pen to NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch and quietly asked, “Can you pass this?” according to the Post. Tisch then handed it to chief counsel Ramzi Kassem, who had slipped into the press conference near its end, before she became the first official to leave the room.
Was she in on this? She certainly didn't give any better an impression of herself with the "request" she fulfilled.
Kassem previously represented Ahmed al-Darbi, who pleaded guilty to war-crime charges linked to al-Qaeda maritime plots, including the 2002 bombing of a French oil tanker off Yemen, Fox News reported. Al-Darbi was held at Guantánamo Bay, and his sister married Khalid al-Mihdhar, one of the hijackers aboard American Airlines Flight 77, which struck the Pentagon and killed 184 people.

Relatives of those killed in the attacks condemned the gesture. “How can you defend a guy like that who wants to do Americans or any innocent person harm?” said Dennis Warchola, whose firefighter brother died in the North Tower, the Post reported. Joyce Cohen Day, whose mother died in the South Tower, told the Washington Times that Mamdani deliberately gave a pen “to an al Qaeda lawyer.”
Here's more about Zohran Mamdani's abominable maneuver:
The Post explains that Al-Darbi “was sent to Guantánamo Bay after he was convicted of terrorism in the 2002 bombing of a French oil tanker in the Middle East — part of an al Qaeda plot to attack the global oil trade after 9/11. His sister married Khalid al-Mihdhar, one of the 9/11 hijackers of the plane that crashed into the Pentagon.”

Now, everyone has a right to fair trial, and to counsel to help him get through that trial. But in our age, men of principle are at a premium, and in high-profile cases such as those involving 9/11, the defense attorneys have all too often been people who are sympathetic to their clients and share much, if not all, of their point of view.

Further evidence of Ramzi Kassem’s point of view was the fact that he “founded a legal clinic at CUNY that offers free legal representation to Muslims, also defended Mahmoud Khalil, a leader of the pro-Palestinian encampment at Columbia who was detained by ICE.” At Columbia, the pro-Hamas group with which Khalil worked has proclaimed “Death to America.”

Thus the passing of the pen to Ramzi Kassem could even be seen as a quiet victory lap for the 9/11 jihadis, and that is exactly how many New Yorkers saw it. Dennis Warchola, whose brother was a firefighter who was killed trying to rescue people in one of the Twin Towers on that fateful day, put it succinctly: “It’s bulls**t.” He added: “How can you defend a guy like that who wants to do Americans or any innocent person harm?” Exactly.

Councilmember Joann Ariola (R-Queens) was likewise right on the money when she said that Mamdani’s passing of the pen to Kassem was “breathtakingly tone-deaf and disrespectful.” Of the signing of the executive orders, she said: “This proves that this was nothing but a performance to get headlines, and it shows exactly where his loyalties truly lie. The families who lost loved ones on 9/11 have every right to be outraged. On the 25th anniversary, City Hall should be honoring their sacrifice with dignity, not forcing those families to endure yet another insult.”

Another Councilmember Vicki Paladino (R-Queens), a vociferous critic of Mamdani, said: “Ramzi Kassem said he was inspired by 9/11 — not to join the fight against terrorism, but to defend the terrorists themselves. He doesn’t even belong in this country, much less in our government.”

Even a Democrat, former political consultant David Sivella, stated: “His participation in anything related to 9/11 is an insult to every New Yorker who survived that day, and indeed all Americans. But I suspect that’s the point. Was it deliberate on your part to give your Muslim base a hint that this is all BS to pacify other New Yorkers?”
The worst part is that there's a whole voter base of Mamdani's who aren't Muslims who, for all we know, may be okay with his atrocity. After all, they voted for him despite his calls for "globalizing the intifada". One more reason I can't stand NYC at this point, and would rather not visit there at all. This incident is utterly repulsive, and the worst part is that Mamdani's bound to attend the 911 Memorial in complete disregard of the victims and their families.

America before the dhimmitude propaganda took hold

Tim Rice tells about how the USA got to where it is now with Islam having taken hold in the quarter century since September 11, 2001:
It’s popular among a certain sort to point out that Islam has always been a fact of American life — Thomas Jefferson owned a Koran, don’t you know — but that’s not really true. Before 9/11, Islam was only tangentially relevant in American life. As recently as 1993, the journalist Robert Kaplan was still using the term “Moslems,” which feels like “Boer” or “Hottentot” or something else we left in the 19th century.

But on September 11, 2001, Islam and America collided, and the former has been on a speedrun in our country ever since.

It’s fascinating but not entirely surprising that an Islamic terror attack on the United States somehow led to the rapid mainstreaming of radical Islam in this country
. Countries tend to import bits of former enemies’ cultures, like how we all drive Hondas and the Japanese love baseball. But the acceptance of even the most vile and un-American forms of Islam was hastened by the liberal obsession with fighting “Islamophobia” during the War on Terror, an arguably good intention that paved the road down which folks like Abdul El-Sayed now trod.

Our problem is not a lack of awareness necessarily — consumers of conservative media at least are familiar with things like the footwashing station in the Dallas-Fort Worth airport and the semi-autonomous Muslim town in Texas. The problem is that even those of us paying attention don’t appreciate how quickly we got here.

As we approach the 25th anniversary of 9/11, consider the scandal that rocked the 10th: the planned construction of an Islamic community center blocks away from the site of the terrorist attack. Dubbed the “Ground Zero Mosque,” the project was almost universally derided. Howard Dean said the project was “a real affront to people who lost their lives” on 9/11, while then-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called for the builders to pick a different site.

It’s hard to imagine Democrats reacting that way now, and that’s a problem. But even in 2011, things had gotten away from us. Reid and Dean broke with President Barack Obama, who defended the project. Obama may not be a secret Kenyan Muslim, but he sure did his best to make criticizing Islam socially unacceptable.
Even years before, both Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan were already enabling footholds, and there were alleged conservatives who were just as hostile as some leftists to the whole notion of daring to speak negatively about the Religion of Peace. Tucker Carlson's quite possibly one of those. Many of these same people are more than utterly willing to call even 911 Families "bigots and xenophobes", and in the past quarter century, I remember a man from Titusville, PA, claiming to be a teacher, who said that while he may not call a kid whose firefighting father died in the WTC tragedy a bigot, he would be perfectly willing to say he was wrong to come within even miles of saying anything negative about the Religion of Peace. Its makes no difference whether somebody's willing to employ crude language or not, what's offensive there is that somebody in a position of "education" is basically saying survivors of 911 and their families have no moral authority and are systematically forbidden to address serious issues like these in any way, shape or form. And it should be noted the man I speak of later embraced a book laced with anti-American metaphors that minimized sexual violence. That man, to my knowledge, died 4 years ago at just 57 years old, of an illness, but the damage people like him did to morale and unity is stunning. And that people like him were willing to support books with repulsive viewpoints speaks volumes.

I've thought at times about what Rice says on the high liklihood the Democrats today wouldn't say a word against building a mosque near Ground Zero. And the election of Zohran Mamdani to mayoral office in NYC is additionally chilling, because it speaks volumes about what kind of electorate now resides in the Big Apple, and not just Muslims themselves. It also makes clear how many non-Muslim leftists now reside in a burg I myself never felt much attachment to, and that spells serious trouble going forward. Especially if they reelect Mamdani in the next few years.

Altalena ship has been recovered

The Altalena ship, which was fired upon by Palmach soldiers led by somebody who became a bad politician years later, has been tracked by scuba divers off the Israeli coast, and the news site sure does want to paint right-wingers badly, even as they admit something not all do:
Divers have located the Altalena, a cargo ship bringing arms to the Irgun militia during the 1948 War of Independence that was hit on the orders of then-prime minister David Ben-Gurion and sunk off Israel’s coast, two far-right ministers announced Monday.

The ship, still intact, was located at 12:30 a.m. at a depth of 503 meters (1,650 feet), some 20 kilometers (12 miles) off Israel’s coast “during a complex maritime search operation,” National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu, of the Otzma Yehudit party, announced in a joint statement.

They credited “long months of meticulous planning and preparation” and “special sensors and advanced survey systems” for the find, saying more details were to be revealed at a press conference. [...]

Hagai Ronen, the agency’s director-general, said Monday that “The locating of the Altalena is an exciting historical moment, in which knowledge, technology and advanced mapping capabilities allow us to touch on a significant chapter in the history of the State of Israel.” [...]

The location of the Altalena was previously announced in December 2012, when it was said to be located a few miles off the coast of Rishon Lezion at a depth of 300 meters. At the time, the government said it was interested in raising it and installing it on dry land in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem as a monument.

The gun-running ship was initially brought to Israel by Menachem Begin’s right-wing Irgun militia during the country’s War of Independence in June 1948.

With the state and its military only a few weeks old, Ben-Gurion, who was at bitter odds with Begin, demanded that the ship and cargo be turned over to the newly formed IDF, sparking an armed confrontation.

As the ship reached the coast and then ran aground, a standoff ensued that ended in a shootout between Irgun members aboard and IDF and Palmach soldiers on the shore, who were ordered to destroy the vessel. The ship was set ablaze by artillery fire by the forces on the shore under the command of a young Yitzhak Rabin, later the IDF chief of General Staff and prime minister.

Sixteen Irgun members and three IDF soldiers died in the incident, and the ship’s cargo was lost.

The incident is widely perceived to have brought the nascent state to the brink of civil war. Begin, who ordered his forces not to fire back, would later say, “My greatest accomplishment was not retaliating and causing civil war.”
That's what Rabin did at the time, long before he led the country to serious disaster. All that aside, Ben-Gurion himself was being very petty at a time when unity was needed, but his communist side got the better of him. The whole incident was abominable, and something the Israeli left never genuinely apologized for, in all their obsessions with socialism and communism. It's reminiscent of how Canada's Pierre Trudeau had an accepting view of communism that, for all we know, may have precipitated the horror story that China is now.

Here's some more history of the Altalena, and how it was located, though it's unclear if the whole ship can be raised above water properly.

John Daniel Davidson now claims Ben Shapiro's a "neo-con"

The Federalist editor John Daniel Davidson continues to go insane in his claims it's "neo-cons" like himself who're responsible for supposed problems like attacking vice president J.D. Vance:
As we near the halfway point of President Donald Trump’s second term, the neocon establishment is openly scheming to reclaim the Republican Party.

That’s why they’re attacking his proxy and likely successor, Vice President J.D. Vance, attempting to paint him as a socialist of the “woke right.” These attacks are being launched by the same people who opposed Trump in 2016, who derided the America First agenda as protectionist, socialist, isolationist, and denounced the president as a fascist and a xenophobe over his immigration agenda. The NeverTrumpers are back, and they’re recycling the same attacks they leveled against the president a decade ago, aiming them now at Vance in a bid to retake the GOP.

The NeverVance campaign has been going strong, especially on X, ever since Vance said in an interview last week on Fox News’ The Will Cain Show that “You don’t stop socialism by throwing slogans at people about the free market. You stop socialism by making people’s lives better.” He was responding to the primary success of a handful of DSA-affiliated Democrats who are selling voters on the idea of socialism as the answer to affordability problems.

Vance’s crime, according to critics like Ben Shapiro and Erick Erickson, was acknowledging the affordability issue is real and proposing that government should do something about it. Shapiro responded with a bizarre post about free markets and process neutralism, while Erickson wrote a lengthy essay arguing that Vance thinks low prices are bad and that America needs a strongman to manage its decline. [...]

Neocons like Shapiro are not making an actual argument, either for the free market or against socialism. They use these as slop terms to express dislike for Vance. Indeed, Vance’s shot last week at those who would “throw slogans at people about the free market” is well-aimed in this regard. What we have in America today, across vast swaths of the economy, is not really a free market but a rigged market full of moral hazard, overregulation, and manufactured scarcity — precisely in the industries that hit families the hardest.
While Erickson is a bad lot himself, I've never heard of Shapiro being accused of being a neo-con before, and while Shapiro has said some stuff I disagree with, something tells me Davidson's much too eager to take swips at him while excusing anything appalling Vance has done so far. What Davidson's telling here only hints he hasn't mended any of his own woke rhetoric, nor his negative stands on Israel. And then, Davidson even makes a questionable statement about the following subject:
Why is this happening? One reason is mass legal immigration, which has brought millions of foreign nationals into our country on H-1B visas, taking jobs in tech and software development that should have gone to American workers. Recent data from the Labor Department showed that through the third quarter of this fiscal year, employers filled more than 830,000 positions with foreign workers on the H-1B program — nearly a third of which went to software development positions.
Umm, how do we know none of those jobs went to illegal immigrants? And how do we know the legal ones didn't study for these particular jobs? They're not allowed to seek employment in the USA, if they think that's where they'll find the best wages? All that aside, some of the people Davidson's attacked don't read as neo-cons at all, and it sounds more like he's just desperate to belittle everyone else in his own confused quests. This is another example of how Davidson's not worth listening to, and perhaps it's about time I just ignored him altogether, because no matter the content in his "op-eds", he fails to convince, and the Federalist itself has gone way downhill for a number of years now. People like Davidson simply aren't worth reading.

China is erasing its Jewish history

A historian of the far east warns that the most prominently communist country is erasing its Jewish history:
For the past decade, police have been stationed outside the door of one of China’s most prominent native Jews. “They see who goes in, who talks. They can hear who is saying what inside the house,” says that person’s sibling, who now lives in Israel (to protect their identities, this article will refer to the one living in Israel as Zhao Lao’er and the one living in Kaifeng as Zhao Laoda). The police monitoring Zhao Laoda’s life are national-level police. “They are like the FBI, not local Kaifeng police.” Several times a year, Zhao Laoda is hauled in by the police for questioning about activities in the Jewish community.

The recent crackdown under President Xi Jinping’s rule has focused on erasing Kaifeng’s Jewish history
.

Most of what we know of the small Jewish community in this central Chinese city is carved in stone on four tablets that, for centuries, were located outside the Kaifeng synagogue, particularly the tablets from 1489 and 1512. Those tablets used to be the highlight of the former Kaifeng Museum, drawing foreign tourists willing to pay extra to see them. The old Kaifeng Museum, near the site of the city’s former synagogue, was shuttered early in the crackdown, in 2016. What became of the tablets remained unknown for several years.

A new museum opened in 2018 in Kaifeng’s distant suburbs. All mentions of the Jews had been scrubbed from the new museum, and the tablets were not on display. When Noam Urbach, an Israeli expert on the Kaifeng Jews, visited the new museum on opening day, he asked where the tablets were. Museum staff called around. Eventually they told him, “We have them, but they are not on display.” Later, Urbach learned from a source who entered the closed museum that the tablets had been thrown into an outdoor courtyard. Rebecca Bitterman, a curator at the Israel Museum, once asked Beijing to lend the tablets for an exhibition on China but was rebuffed. “They said they will never leave China,” she says. Today, the tablets China once considered too valuable to leave the country lie in the dirt of an abandoned museum.

This crackdown began in April 2015, when Rebecca Davis wrote about Kaifeng’s Jewish revival for The New York Times. She attended a seder hosted by a mix of foreign and Kaifeng Jews, with one government official present. “That article was a very big problem,” Zhao Lao’er said. Zhao Laoda was interrogated for 10 hours. Around this time, police were ordered to guard the entrance to their house, though a worse fate awaited the official who participated in the seder. “He was arrested,” Zhao Lao’er said.

The pressure spread. Rabbi Marvin Tokayer had been leading Jewish tours to Kaifeng. In 2015, he was stopped mid-tour and was not allowed into the city. Ester Guo Yan, one of the community’s leaders, was harassed by police, who demanded to check identification while she was guiding tours. Two years later, authorities shut down a small, unofficial museum of the Kaifeng Jews that she had cobbled together in an apartment next to the site of the old synagogue.
This kind of chilling news is exactly why I consider Ronald Reagan a phony when it comes to the war against communism - he may have gotten the original Russian regime to dismantle (and has been sadly clear since, it resurrected under Vladimir Putin), but he never stood up to the Chinese communist threat, and now, look where it's led to. What are the chances religious Israeli tourists aren't allowed to bring tefillin to pray there, or light prayer candles for Shabbat? A definite problem's come about, and no telling if it can be mended at ease. Indeed, does anybody sensible have the courage to protest the Chinese communist machine today?

John Daniel Davidson still gives fishy signs, even if he now ostensibly takes up a legitimate issue, while other writers do a better job

The Federalist editor John Daniel Davidson, who previously wrote some very reprehensible screeds against bringing down Iran, and even attacked Israel, is now seemingly taking up a more legitimate subject, that being Islamic entrenchment in America, but he still gives troubling signs he's not grasping the full picture, or appreciating certain measures taken to prevent sharia law being imposed in the USA:
What might that look like in America in 2026, practically speaking? Well, Democratic lawmakers in Massachusetts recently introduced a bill to create a “Muslim Commission” to place Muslims in state government and influence policymaking. In addition to assessing programs and policies in state agencies and recommending new legislation, the commission will serve as a “liaison between government and private interest groups,” and accept private donations and grants.

On the local level, it means Muslim immigrant communities recreating versions of their home countries here in America. In Hamtramck, Michigan, the first Muslim-majority city in America, the all-Muslim city council recently voted to legalize backyard animal sacrifice over the objections of the non-Muslim minority. Sharia courts, which function as putatively voluntary arbitrage bodies on matters of family law, have in recent years drawn the attention of some Republican officeholders. Yet efforts to “outlaw Sharia” miss the mark, mistaking the effect for the cause. The reason Sharia courts are growing across America is because we have brought in a large population of Muslims that want to use them. Even El-Sayed has said he has an “obligation” to follow Sharia law until the day he dies.
While there's a fully valid argument that it's bad to allow Islamists into the country, that doesn't mean we shouldn't make efforts to pass laws to prohibit sharia courts, regardless of whether Muslims are in the USA or not. Same with laws to prohibit communism. And if Davidson, the same man who opposes toppling Iran's Islamofascist government, is against outlawing sharia, that's troubling, as is the following:
The results have been mixed, to say the least. The Muslims of Britain do not have the same priorities as the left-wing managerial class represented by the likes of Labour’s erstwhile prime minister, Kier Starmer. They also don’t necessarily conceive of themselves as ideologues making common cause with the left. Rather, they tend to view themselves as a distinct ethno-religious community with its own distinct priorities and commitments, not least of which right now is Gaza.

Indeed, the appearance of independent Muslim political candidates in Britain in the 2024 elections — candidates that might have once run under the Labour Party — was the direct result of the Israel-Hamas conflict. There were five such candidates, all of whom won thanks to large numbers of voters in their districts who say the number one political issue for them is the conflict in Gaza. They delivered huge upsets to Labour in areas that had long been secure. Elsewhere, senior Labour politicians in areas with large Muslim populations narrowly fended off pro-Palestine independent candidates and saw their majorities drastically diminished. Because a majority of British Muslims are more likely to have a positive view of Hamas than a negative one, it simply made political sense for single-issue candidates in 2024 to run on a pro-Hamas platform.
Is Davidson implying that fighting against a savage entity following the same Islamic doctrine as many other Muslim societies is wrong? Or that that's the only reason Muslims in Britain voted for Muslim candidates? Well that's disturbing, and there's something fishy about this, not the least being that he apparently buys into taqqiya that would imply Israel's the sole cause of their tyranny. Davidson is one truly naive disgrace.

Geert Wilders, writing on Breitbart, has a much better view of the situation:
The holiday season is not over yet, but it is time for some reflection. Those who have been travelling in Western Europe will undoubtedly have noticed how our continent is rapidly changing.

From Bergen, Norway, to Cork, Ireland, from Salzburg, Austria, to Florence, Italy, from Hamburg, Germany, to Perpignan, France, everywhere the number of djellabas, headscarves, even niqabs, has dramatically risen.

The media talk about heatwaves, but none of them dares to mention the demographic wave. Its effects on our economy (drained), our way of life (diminished), and our well-being (squandered) are profound. And while the heat will pass, the change in population will not.

Across Western Europe, Islamic radicals are increasingly asserting themselves. Women are intimidated. Jews face rising antisemitism. Homosexuals are attacked. Critics of Islam require police protection. Yet Europe’s political class refuses to connect the dots
.

Our countries are rapidly Islamizing. Politicians, the media, the police are very keen to show off their “respect” for Islam. Is it respect or submission? In the Netherlands, Islam has already become the largest religion among people under-25. It is realistic to think that by mid-century, Islam will be the largest religion in the land – larger than Christianity.

We are already reaping the bitter harvest of this transformation. The Dutch government, once Israel’s staunchest ally, now takes the lead in advocating sanctions against the Jewish state. Our changing demographics, and its electoral repercussions, have prompted politicians of the left and centre-right to internalise the malevolent lie that there is an Israeli genocide going on in Gaza.

Our streets are taken over by neo-Marxist and Islamic extremists, staging violent demonstrations in favour of Palestinian terrorists and Iranian mullahs. Our traditional religion, our values, our national identity are being replaced. We are becoming strangers in our home, paralyzed by a fear to assert our national interest and back our allies.

While we stand at the precipice of a silent conquest, the ruling establishment keeps singing the praise of cultural and religious diversity. But if we do not halt immigration, we will soon be a mono-cultural society again. No longer Judeo-Christian, but Islamic.
Absolutely correct. And 2 Republicans from New York have warned about the rising influence of socialism in the USA:
Reps. Claudia Tenney (R-NY) and Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY) are warning that socialist ideas are gaining traction among young Americans as the country heads toward the midterm elections, pointing to the education system, the appeal of “free stuff,” and the experiences of countries including Cuba, Venezuela, and the former Yugoslavia as they argue against bringing similar policies to the United States.

Tenney and Malliotakis discussed the rise of socialism and left-wing politics in an upcoming episode of the Republican Study Committee’s Right to the Point podcast. Breitbart News obtained an advance transcript of the interview ahead of its release.

The interview comes as both parties turn toward the midterm elections, with Tenney and Malliotakis focusing much of the discussion on New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and other socialist candidates.

Both lawmakers brought personal experience to the discussion. Malliotakis said her mother fled Communist Cuba in 1959, while Tenney said she grew up spending significant time in Communist Yugoslavia, later studied there, and worked for the Yugoslav consulate during the Sarajevo Olympics.

Malliotakis argued that socialist systems begin by gradually expanding government power through measures such as price controls and restrictions on individual freedoms.

“It is sort of the baby steps where they begin to implement changes. They begin to take away freedoms. They begin to ration things, to implement price controls that are very destructive to the economy,”
she said.

She pointed to Cuba and Venezuela, arguing that policies advocated by Mamdani resemble policies implemented in those countries.

“They want to seize the means of production. They did that, particularly with the oil sector in Venezuela,”
Malliotakis said. “They want to abolish private property rights. They want to have government-run supermarkets.”
It's vital to note that Islamism could be rising among young Americans too, even hidden in plain sight, and that too is bad. Also note that the government-run groceries Mamdani's opening are operating according to halal customs, and that's also very telling. And then, Bill Maher has an interesting observation on immigrants not assimilating:
During his “New Rules” segment at the end of the show, Maher said, “And finally, new rule: If you want the American Dream, you have to take the American values. There’s no bigger issue in electoral politics these days than immigration. And there’s no doubt, at least in my mind, that both sides went to extremes, Biden’s policy of open doors, and then Trump’s policy of broken windows. Now I’m on the page of America doing what it used to do so well, stealing hard-working, talented immigrants from around the world and making them Americans. But something has changed in the equation. Now most immigrants still want to assimilate, but some now have this other attitude of melting pot? F*ck you, you melt.”
Maher also takes issue with Zohran Mamdani's opening government-run groceries, which again reeks of communist tactics mixed with sharia:
Maher said, “He’s opening these city-run stores, grocery stores. I don’t think they have one yet, but that’s the plan, that will sell meat and bread and other items, I assume, for 30% below market rate. His quote was, the Mayor said, I look forward to the competition. May the most affordable grocery store win. Well, it’s not competition if you’re undercutting legitimate businessmen by 30%. I wonder who’s going to win. But who’s subsidizing that, who’s paying for that? I guess richer people, and that’s the plan.”
And then, as Josh Hammer at PJ Media says, electoral integrity issues aren't about Israel, but about Islam:
More than any political cycle in memory, the 2026 primary campaign season has been marked by frequent, and often hysterical, condemnations of the influence of the so-called "Israel lobby."

After the conspiratorial anti-Trump gadfly Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) lost his Republican congressional primary in northern Kentucky in May, he quipped about the Trump-endorsed former Navy SEAL officer who defeated him: "I would have come out sooner, but I had to call my opponent and concede, and it took a while to find Ed Gallrein in Tel Aviv."

Way to question the patriotism of a decorated SEAL Team Six veteran, Tom. Keep it classy!

On the Democratic side, the bogeyman du jour has been the America Israel Public Affairs Committee. Some successful Democratic candidates, such as Abdul El-Sayed in Arab-heavy Michigan, rode anti-AIPAC fervor to victory. And some losing candidates, such as the comically corrupt Cori Bush in St. Louis, blamed AIPAC for their rejection. In her concession speech, Bush vowed to dismantle AIPAC's "kingdom."

Your loss couldn't possibly be because you defrauded two federal relief programs during COVID-19, could it, Cori?

These (literal) losers are barking up the wrong tree. [...]

Last year, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia deployed the single largest sum of money of any foreign country — nearly $92 million — to lobby for its interests in Washington. Turkey was fourth; Israel wasn't anywhere close. In the two decades beginning in 2001, the kingdom — whose nationals included most of the 9/11 hijackers that same year — retained the single most agents registered under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (148).

Saudi frenemy Qatar, the spiritual and financial home of the Brotherhood worldwide, is routinely the single largest foreign funder of American higher education. The Qataris cut massive FARA checks to land favorable coverage with prized outlets, such as Tucker Carlson's cesspool of a podcast. The emirate owns a piece of the Washington Wizards and the Washington Capitals, and even a chunk of the Empire State Building.
And I thought it was bad enough Qatar may own a large share of the Shard office building in London, UK. If Massie - and Davidson - have nothing to say about Saudia Arabia's influence, that can say all we need to know about where they stand. People like the latter now stand as unconvincing in their alleged concerns over Islamofascism, mostly because they won't jettison their anti-Israel obsessions. And in the long run, that could be very costly. Update: I just found 2 of Davidson's posts on X that say quite a bit more about where he really stands: Well. And this was just a few months ago he spewed out this garbage that actually hurts the Christian movement Davidson supposedly belongs to, and makes clear he really is hostile to Israel. In that case, I'm not convinced he's actually opposed to the Islamic religion at all. And I don't think he wants to help Arab/Iranian women find a better life either. Just a shameful man this Davidson is, and now he's really showing his true colors.
