PLO's Saeb Erekat in critical condition
The PLO's leading terrorist fell ill with Corona, with one bad bit of news being that Israel's government is letting him be hospitalized by an Israeli outfit. That told, he does appear to be in deservedly terrible condition:
Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat is said to be in critical condition over complications from the coronavirus, Israeli media reported Monday.Well he asked for it, for a long time. And truly, he shouldn't have been allowed to have this operation, which has angered the mother of a terror victim:
Erekat, 65, underwent a lung transplant in the United States in 2017, placing him at heightened risk for COVID-19 complication. He was rushed to the Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem on Sunday night after his condition took a turn for the worse.
According to the hospital, the Palestinian official has been sedated and placed on a ventilator.
"Mr. Erekat had a quiet night but this morning his condition deteriorated and is now defined as critical. Due to respiratory distress he was sedated and intubated," the hospital said in a statement.
Dr. Adva Biton, mother of Adelle Biton who was murdered in a rock-throwing attack at the age of four in 2013, on Sunday expressed outrage over Israel’s agreement to allow senior PLO official Saeb Erekat to receive treatment in an Israeli hospital for complications related to COVID-19.And she's got a very valid complaint here. Erekat shouldnt have been allowed to have this, just as the PLO shouldn't be allowed to have Israeli money. Let's hope that Erekat goes to face the highest court. Update: families of terrorism victims protested at the hospital complex against the decision to give Erekat treatment.
"All who pity the cruel end up being cruel to the merciful," Biton wrote in a post on Facebook. "It is not new that we pay money to the PA, money that comes from the pockets of the residents of the State of Israel."
The sums of money that Israel transfers to the Palestinian Authority, she continued, can be used to train medical staff, build hospitals and buy medical equipment, "but instead the money is channeled to terrorism, to the salaries of terrorist families, to weapons, to infrastructure."
Biton blasted the decision to allow Erekat, to whom she referred as an “anti-Semitic enemy of Israel”, to be hospitalized at the coronavirus ward at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem.
