NYT bashes Trump, even as they admit their political cartoons were antisemitic

The NY Times published an editorial supposedly apologizing for their recent antisemitic cartoons:
The New York Times editorial board said in an editorial published Tuesday that the newspaper’s publishing of “an appalling political cartoon” is “evidence of a profound danger — not only of anti-Semitism but of numbness to its creep.”

The newspaper also acknowledged its own contributions to the rise of anti-Semitism, saying that: “In the 1930s and the 1940s, The Times was largely silent as anti-Semitism rose up and bathed the world in blood. That failure still haunts this newspaper.”

The editorial said that “anti-Semitic imagery is particularly dangerous now,” citing Saturday’s attack on the Ponway of Chabad synagogue and the release Tuesday of the Anti-Defamation League’s annual Audit of Anti-Semitic incidents, which shows that the number of assaults against American Jews more than doubled from 2017 to 2018.
However, the same editorial also opportunistically attacked Donald Trump for supposedly not confronting the problem himself:
It also accused President Donald Trump of doing “too little to rouse the national conscience” against anti-Semitism, saying: “Though he condemned the cartoon in The Times, he has failed to speak out against anti-Semitic groups like the white nationalists who marched in Charlottesville, Va., in 2017 chanting, ‘Jews will not replace us.’”
So they're repeating what was certainly an exaggeration, the notion he allegedly didn't condemn any of the most evil elements at that Virginia march. Even though he has spoken out against anti-semitism in the US, and discussed the shooting in Pittsburgh last year, and even invited Jewish groups to the White House. All this from a paper that protects Islamic anti-semitism as much as possible. I don't think the NYT is sorry at all, nor is their double-standard a shock.

Anyway, here's an op-ed on the subject from Douglas Altabef. I sure hope people are canceling their subscriptions to the NYT. They never were a reputable paper, and definitely aren't now.

Update: and in case I hadn't noticed before, the AJC's announced they don't accept the apology the NYT editors issued after what they did. Nor should they have to. The NYT's unrepentant, and in fact, they're the pits.
