Rabbi Eliezer Berland, a convicted sex offender and leader of the Shuvu Banim Breslov community, was arrested Sunday morning in a police raid at his home on suspicion of fraudulent receipt and tax offenses. His wife and senior members of the community were detained for questioning.I think that's an admission of guilt. All that aside, such is what happens when you have cultists running amok with their socialist tactics and seeking to fleece innocent people of money that should be reserved for medical supplies for the victims they stole from.
Following a covert investigation, police forces raided the homes of six suspected offenders. As the investigation progressed, the investigators succeeded in deciphering the suspects' hierarchical pattern of action, each with a defined role, all under the tutelage and use of the name of the central suspect.
The investigation focused on two main tracks. The first was criminal - gathering evidence and testimony against the 18 to 20-year-old Jerusalem suspects, who allegedly exploited hundreds of civilians and their families by demanding tens of thousands of shekels in exchanges for blessings of healing. During the arrest of the rabbi, the culprits began throwing stones and other objects at police in an attempt to prevent their actions. Two officers were injured.

Israel Police have opened a new investigation against Health Minister Yakov Litzman (UTJ), Kan 11 reported Saturday evening.It all relates to previously reported violations he reportedly committed. But he probably won't resign, even though he doesn't deserve the job he has.
The new investigation was opened several months ago, with the approval of Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit, and focuses on both Litzman and others suspected of fraud and breach of trust.
