Far-left Alec Baldwin's career is finished
A woman has died and a man has been injured after actor Alec Baldwin discharged a prop firearm on the set of new Western movie Rust. And what if, after this investigation is wrapped up, there's still no charges filed against Baldwin? This is by far the worst thing he's ever done in his career, and now it's going to stain his resume for years to come. Biggest irony in this fiasco is that Baldwin is an anti-gun activist:
The woman has been named as Halyna Hutchins, a 42-year-old director of photography, and the injured man is Joel Souza, the film's director.
Hutchins was transported via helicopter to University of New Mexico Hospital, but was later pronounced dead.
[...] A spokesman for Baldwin, who is producing and starring in the film, said there was an accident involving the misfire of a prop gun with blanks.
Juan Rios, a spokesman for the sheriff's office, said: "This investigation remains open and active. No charges have been filed in regard to this incident. Witnesses continue to be interviewed by detectives."
Preliminarily, it is tragic that 42-year-old Halyna Hutchins, a rising cinematographer in Hollywood, died yesterday on the set of Rust, a movie being filmed in Santa Fe, New Mexico. My thoughts are with the loved ones she left behind. Having said that, I cannot escape a feeling that karma had a hand in this one because the finger on the trigger of the gun that killed Hutchins belonged to Alec Baldwin, a hysterical leftist who is fanatically opposed to the Second Amendment. [...]It's never made much sense to me why anybody who's that against guns for self-defense would be fully willing to make use of them on movie and TV sets. Now, karma's chomped hard on the butt, and an innocent woman's tragically lost her life due to the incompetence of such an irresponsible man, whose career is bound to come to a close after this catastrophe. Indeed, how will the studio be able to market this now, when the star/producer himself caused such a horror? Who will even want to bother paying for tickets at the booth? Why, who'd even want to spend money subscribing to a TV streaming service for this? Rust, indeed. That's all that'll be left by the time the dust has settled on this incident.
What happened to poor Hutchins on the set of Rust somehow perfectly exemplifies Hollywood’s hypocritical polarity when it comes to guns. In movie after movie, guns play a prominent role. The good guys always have fantastic speed and aim, laying waste to the bad guys. The latter, of course, can’t shoot straight and will shoot 12 rounds from a 6-shooter, missing every time. Hollywood, more than any institution in America, sells the glamour and power of guns.
Meanwhile, once off the set, Hollywood’s hard-left actors are stridently opposed to guns. Baldwin’s foolish tweet to Dana Loesch is just one small example of his entire anti-gun oeuvre, a fashionable Hollywood stance. After Sandy Hook, Baldwin was out in front announcing that “A ban on semi-automatic assault weapons is a necessary first step toward resuscitating the soul of this country....”
Things might have turned out differently if Baldwin had bothered to learn about the guns he so hates. He might have known that you never point a gun, any gun, at someone or something you don’t intend to kill. He might also have known that you never assume that a gun is unloaded or in “neutral” mode. Had he had some gun savvy, he would have checked the gun to make sure it was indeed a harmless prop. He would also have pointed it away from any living target. After all, the cameras would never pick up a faint deviation in aim.
