An example of how "Jewish" summer camps have succumbed to transsexual ideology at the expense of the fairer sex
A summer camp in Washington State is under fire after stating that it will not inform parents if their child identifies as transgender. And that can lead to potential sexual predation, under one of the worst modern protected-class statuses. Ultimately, it makes little difference what sect of Judaism this camp is run by; what matters is that they're adopting ideologies that're misogynist and dangerous for girls. No sane parent should send their daughters there if that's how it's going to be run.
Camp Solomon Schechter, a Jewish summer camp for children based in Seattle, has published an “inclusivity and mental health” section on their website that details how the camp’s policies toward transgender members. In the camp’s inclusivity statement, it states that if staff members are made aware that a child decides to transition while attending the camp, the camp will not disclose that information to their parents. [...]
If that wasn’t bad enough, the camp’s housing policy states that children will be assigned to sleep in cabins that correlate with their gender identity, not their biological sex. This policy will be implemented even if the child has not undergone any hormonal or surgical transition.
Here's also an op-ed addressing this serious violation of women's rights, which "feminist" movements here are uncertain to have any concern over:
In his latest piece for Commentary, writer Tal Fortgang examines the philosophy underlying the concept of “inclusion.” According to Fortgang, “inclusion” can be categorized into distinct categories of “collaborative inclusion” and “imposed inclusion.” Developed initially, collaborative inclusion contains the noble goal of promoting “the entry of as many kinds of people as possible into our institutions” while treating everyone with respect. As somebody whose grandparents were part of the Conservative movement, it's shameful to see them succumbing to this utter irresponsibility. From what I know about the Schechter camp, they caused another scandal several years back by flying a PLO flag and associating with the Religion of Peace. So it isn't shocking at all they could follow it up with ideologies whose advocates are quite comfortable with anti-semitism by extension.
Most significantly, notes Fortgang, collaborative inclusion does not ask establishments to alter their most fundamental tenets. In recent years, an emerging outgrowth of collaborative inclusion is what Fortgang calls “imposed inclusion.”
Under imposed inclusion, organizations modify rules to conform with “minority factions,” eventually leading to what is described as “the homogenizing of all institutions according to the progressive view of the human person and the good.”
The number of groups subscribing to imposed inclusion appears with increasing frequency. Recently, the doctrine’s activist grip has reached many US Jewish summer camps and is manifesting in the enforcement of damaging policies related to gender ideology. The current implementation of rules involving mixed-biological gender housing is causing Jewish camps from varying ideological persuasions to take a position on the issue.
[...] According to FJC’s Find a Camp tool, 91 Jewish sleepaway camps now offer accommodations to “gender non-conforming” campers. Specifically, the 19 overnight camps denominationally connected to Reform Judaism have committed to placing campers in bunks based on a child’s preferred “gender identity” and not their biological sex.
Joining the Reform movement, Camp Ramah, a network of camps affiliated with Conservative Judaism, announced last year that it strives to “avoid heteronormative assumptions” and that its camps employ the latitude to house campers according to a child’s chosen “gender identity” rather than birth sex.
The worst part is that Muslim camps are throughly exempt from all this monstrosity. For now, it's to be hoped Jewish parents who care about their children's well-being won't pay any money to send their children to camps like Schechter anymore.
